Spare part for Pressure-Tuner of LS50THa H-alpha solar telescopes from LUNT SOLAR SYSTEMS
A rubber O-ring is installed into the Pressure-Tuner of Lunt Solar Systems LS50THa solar telescopes to seal the air-pressure tuning system. Over time, the rubber of this O-ring can age and become porous, whereby the air-pressure can then no longer be maintained. When this happens, the old O-ring can be replaced by this spare part. The replacement is simple and can be done by the user. Installation instructions can be found here under the tab "Manuals" as a PDF for download.
After replacing the O-ring, the piston and cylinder of the Pressure-Tuner can be re-greased with grease available under part number 0558350.
Please note that this spare part can only be used on the Lunt Solar Systems LS50THa H-alpha solar telescopes. If the problem occurs on the larger THa or MT series telescopes, the larger O-rings with part numbers 0558330 or 0558340 must be used there.

The grease can be applied to the piston with the O-rings and to the threads of the brass cylinder on the Pressure-Tuner. It keeps the Pressure-Tuner running smoothly and seals it.Please note:Do not use too much grease inside the brass cylinder. A very compact, complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha light.The LS50THa solar telescope offers 50 mm free aperture, 350 mm focal length, and provides a bandwidth of <0.75 Angstrom. The telescope is fitted as standard with the air-pressure tuning system "Pressure-Tuner", the Etalon is safely installed inside the telescope. Prominences and surface detail can quickly be viewed spontaneously. This very portable system is an ideal travel companion for wherever you go.A B400 blocking filter is installed inside the star diagonal. The B400 is good for visual observing. Focusing is achieved by a non-roting Helical focuser.Please note that there is only a small back-focus at this telescope, therefore solar-imaging is very difficult. The LS50THa is designed for visual solar observing. We recommend for imaging the 60mm telescopes of the LS60MT series.Also double-stacking with a bandwidth of only <0.5 Angstrom is possible by using the additional available LS50C filter (0550210). This filter threads directly onto the LS50THa telescope. The blocking-filters have a blue colored filter part on the side facing the telescope. This blue colored filter parts may become a milky white layer at older blocking-filters if the blocking-filter was storded at high air humidity for some time. Please always store H-alpha telescopes and filters as dry as possible. If this blue colored filter part has become a milky white layer, it can be replaced with this spare part. The replacement is easy and can be done by the user himself. LUNT PCUSB Pressure-Tuner Controller with USB

Electronic Control unit with USB connection for one LUNT Pressure-Tuner system.The PC-USB is a microprocessor controlled pressure control system that can be retrofitted to any LUNT instrument (except LS50THa) with Pressure-Tuner (PT), without return to the Lunt facility. A simple air-pipe connects the PC-USB to the Pressure-Tuner. All existing PT systems (except LS50THa) can be retrofitted via an included adapter to the pressure tuner knob. The PC-USB can be used at any altitude.The PC-USB controller can be manually operated directly by the control panel at the housing, or via a computer by USB connection (Windows 7 or higher needed). A USB cable with USB-B plug is necessary for operating by a computer, this USB cable is not included. You will find the software for download on this webpage above at the tab "Manuals".Upon power up the PC-USB will go thru a systems vent and ambient pressure set mode. This will take around 60 seconds. The PC-USB is a simple 2 button system. One button for increasing and one button for decreasing the PT pressure. Digital feedback and indicator lights are provided. The PC-USB is accurate to 0.027 Bar (0.4 PSI), providing very precise control of the pressure setpoint. The PC-USB will auto-compensate for fluctuations in internal pressure changes due to significant changes in temperature. The PC-USB can be user programmed to center wavelength set point. Due to the sealed nature of the system, the center wavelength set point will remain constant at any altitude at a given set pressure point. Because the PC-USB can provide closed-loop feedback of internal etalon pressure users can correlate change in pressure to doppler shifted events.Normally the telescope shakes while you are tuning mechanically. Especially if you use high magnification, for example for observing the Doppler effect at a filament. With the PC-USB system there will be absolutely no shaking of the telescope while tuning at all magnifications, so observing Doppler shifted events will become more comfortable.The PC-USB can run continuously on internal battery power for more than 8 hours.
