NEW: Now with hybrid viewfinder shoe to accept different viewfinder holders.    Apochromats are the ultimate choice in small to medium sized telescopes: the combination of compactness, transportability, very high image contrast and sharpness together with excellent astrophotographic performance cannot be bested. The advances in glass manufacturing during the last few years have made true apochromats available to more astronomy enthusiasts than ever before. The new Explore Scientific FCD-100 CF Hex represents another major improvement in this field - the overall correction (colour and spherical) is setting new standards in this price class. The optical design shows a polystrehl value of 0.97 indicating a level of correction that is absolutely top of the line.This excellent apochromat is a very versatile telescope: its reasonably fast f-ratio makes for short exposure times when imaging deep sky objects, but it is still of a significant focal length, making higher power planetary and lunar observation comfortable without having to use really high magnification eyepieces. ​The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC Hybrid Finder Scope Base is designed to accept all legacy EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC and BRESSER Messier finder scope brackets and mini dovetail-type (e.g. Vixen, Synta, and many other brands) finder scope brackets. The base has rugged all-metal parts with black-anodized base and chrome-plated metal screws. Safety stops prevent the finder scope from sliding through and from falling when attaching screws are loosened. There are threaded holes on the left and right sides of the EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC Hybrid Finder Scope Base for desired access to attaching screws. Includes bolts and screws for mounting the base to the optical tube assembly. Enables you to connect a camera to telescopes that accept 2" barrel eyepieces. You will need a T2-ring for your special camera type also. The very special feature of this adaptor is the very short mechanical design (2.0mm) which enables the camera use also on telescopes with a short focal range. This adapter is also prepared to use with 2" filters.   

The new BRESSER Messier 12" Dobson enhances this well-liked telescope series while providing great portability due to its lightweight fibreglass telescope tube. Despite its low price, it offers a variety of functions as well as quality that you would not find in considerably more expensive devices. Thanks to the powerful telescope aperture of 305 mm, you get significantly more light-gathering capacity than with the smaller models and are therefore not limited to observing the moon and the planets of our solar system - you can already look far out into the universe and observe globular clusters, nebulae and galaxies with even greater brightness. Details become visible in most deep-sky objects: globular clusters are clearly resolved into individual stars and gas nebulae, which can only be guessed at with smaller devices, show structure. The device is unrivalled in its versatility: The excellent large Hexafoc focuser has an aperture of 65 mm - so there is no noticeable obstruction from the focuser tube even with large wide-field eyepieces. Thanks to the large altitude wheels, even these heavier eyepieces are held effortlessly. And if a particularly large number of accessories is attached, such as a binocular attachment, then the entire tube can be moved inside the tube clamps - and everything is balanced again in a flash. The unrivalled rigidity of the focuser makes focusing easy - so photography with this tube is also possible. This is another strength of this universal telescope: if you want to take photos, you can simply unscrew the altitude wheels from the tube and attach it to an equatorial mount using a dovetail bar - so there's nothing standing in the way of astrophotography. An optional 10:1 gear reduction for the focuser is available for the highest demands. Considering that the focuser is the most frequently used part of the telescope, the use of the Hexafoc in this device is a quantum leap for this price range. With the initial equipment, you can start observing immediately - a 6x30 finder and a 25 mm SPL eyepiece are included in the scope of delivery. Various other viewfinder types can also be retrofitted using the 2 new hybrid viewfinder shoes (Art. 0620158) supplied as standard. In addition, the new 12" BRESSER Messier makes it easy to transport the device as compactly as possible - the rocker box can be dismantled in a few simple steps because the parts are assembled with metal quick-release connectors.
