Vixen SDP Focal Reducer 0,8x
Focal Reducer for the SDP65SS AstrographDeveloped exclusively for the SDP65SS, this focal reducer shortens the focal length by a factor of 0.8× and lowers the focal ratio from f/5.5 to f/4.4. In practice, the focal length is reduced from 360 mm to 288 mm, enabling a much wider field of view. The advanced optical design uses 2 elements in 2 groups with a multi-coating for high light transmission.  The reducer illuminates a 30 mm image circle, covering the APS-C format at over 90 % right into the corners. Even at the extreme edge of a 44 mm full-frame sensor, it maintains ≈ 70 % light intensity while keeping distortion low—for sharp, clean star images across the frame. FEATURES Focal length: SDP65SS 360 mm (f/5.5) → 288 mm (f/4.4) Optical design: 2 groups / 2 elements Coating: Multi-coating Connection (telescope side): M48 × 0.75, internal thread Connection (camera side): M56 × 0.75, internal thread Filter thread: M48 Illuminated image circle: 30 mm (APS-C > 90 %, full-frame edge ≈ 70 %) SCOPE OF DELIVERY SDP Focal Reducer 0.8×

Vixen SX2WL Equatorial GoTo Mount with Wifi Module
Vixen has developed a new generation of SX mounts for demanding observers and astrophotographers. The SX2WL mount is simply operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or tablet. By controlling the mount with your smartphone using the free STAR BOOK Wireless app, you can easily use sky navigation functions such as automatic GoTo panning of celestial objects via your smartphone or tablet. By eliminating the power consumption of the conventional LCD (STAR BOOK TEN), the power consumption on the mount is reduced by up to 20%, thus enabling longer astronomical observation and astrophotography. When the desired celestial object is selected from a list, it is automatically panned into the telescope's field of view and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used on this mount without any problems. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the top model, the AXD mount, the SXD2WL brings a new standard of performance and precision to the Vixen mount family. With a photographic load capacity of 12 kg, the axis cross of the mount weighs just 7.0 kg (15.4 lbs) making it ideal for mobile observations. In addition, the motors mounted in the lower part of the mount also serve as a counterweight, so the mount requires fewer weights for balancing. The SX2 mount in detail Precision stepper motors and micro-step motion control systemAt the heart of the SXD2 are the precision stepper motors, which offer better performance and response than previous models. The micro-step motion control system offers powerful and yet very smooth drive characteristics, which are given both in fine movements and in fast pans. Built-in bearings The bearings of the RA and DEC axes and the worm shafts have been significantly improved to reduce the load on the motors. As a result, the motors move much more smoothly than in previous models. High-precision worm gearsHigh-precision processing technologies eliminate worm gear errors. The edges of the two worms and worm wheels are particularly smooth, enabling very precise tracking. Declination axis as counterweightThe solid motor units are installed in the lower part of the declination axis so that the center of gravity of the SXD2 is below the intersection point of the RA and DEC axes. This means you need fewer additional counterweights. Latitude setting The latitude is adjustable between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium and low latitudes); latitude scale in 2-degree increments; fine adjustment with a tangent screw head, approx. 0.8 degrees per turn. The wireless module in detail The Vixen Wifi adapter for EQ mounts allows you to control your Vixen mount via a smartphone or tablet. With the smartphone app STAR BOOK Wireless (free of charge) you can navigate the sky without any cables. The app turns your smartphone or tablet into a control unit for the equatorial mount in no time at all. The response delay of the mount, which is considered the biggest disadvantage of wireless connections, has been reduced to a level comparable to wired connections. Reduced power consumption compared to conventional controllers with LCD monitor The power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%, allowing longer observations than with conventional wired controllers such as the STAR BOOK TEN. Operation similar to the STAR BOOK TEN controllerThe STAR BOOK Wireless app has a similar structure to the STAR BOOK TEN controller. Depending on the star map setting, it contains up to 259,000 celestial objects. Tap on a celestial object in the object list and start the GoTo. The mount will now automatically move to this target and bring it into the telescope's field of view. All the popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN are retained. Convenient operation When looking through the telescope operate the mount by swiping on the app's star chart. As there are no buttons, simply slide your finger over the star chart to operate the mount conveniently. Extensive astronomical data included In addition to data on easily observable celestial bodies such as Messier objects, NGC objects and IC objects, this also includes the sun, moon, planets, comets and dwarf planets. High-precision alignment By aligning the mount to one or two stars, you can already achieve fairly precise positioning. By aligning the mount to three or more stars, you can achieve high-precision alignment of the mount for high magnifications. The objects are then approached precisely and centrally in your telescope's field of view. The alignment information is saved and can be retained even when the device is switched off. By leaving the telescope in its current state after completing an observation without moving it, you can start the automatic installation with the same settings for the next observation.  Individual setting options As with the STAR BOOK TEN control unit, the app offers various individual settings, such as gear backlash compensation, night mode in red, autoguider and variable GoTo speed and LED brightness. You can also set the timing of the reversal of the objective tube (meridian flip) as desired. Even if the object moves to the south during tracking, you can prevent the telescope tube from reversing. Important note: Cannot be used on old SX mounts with the old blue Star Book! Technical information about the Wifi module: CPU with 32-bit CISC processor 120 MHz The unit is connected to the mount via a D-SUB 9PIN connector as with the STAR BOOK TEN. It has a 6-pin 6-wire modular plug for external autoguider operation. Vixen SXP2WL Equatorial Mount with Wifi
Vixen has developed a new generation of SX mounts with Wifi for demanding observers and astrophotographers. The SXP2WL mount is easily operated via a Wifi module using a smartphone or tablet. For user-friendly control of the mount, the free STAR BOOK Wireless app is available. This allows you to use practical celestial navigation functions such as automatic GoTo slewing to certain celestial objects easily via your smartphone or tablet. Since the power consumption of the traditional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is eliminated, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%. This enables astronomical observations and astrophotography over longer periods.By selecting the desired celestial object from a list, it will automatically slew into the telescope's field of view and tracking begins. A previously existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used with this mount without any issues. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the top model, the AXD mount, the SXP2WL sets a new standard in performance and precision in the Vixen mount family. The axis cross of the SXP2 mount has a photographic payload of 17 kg and weighs just 13.3 kg, making it ideal for mobile observations. Additionally, the motors located in the lower part of the mount serve as counterweights. As a result, the mount requires fewer weights for balancing. On the SXP2 mount, larger ball bearings are used than in previous models to increase accuracy and payload capacity. The mount housing also features a greater material thickness. To make the polar block even more stable, the axis cross is firmly clamped into a fork. The SXP2 mount in detail Stronger mount housingOn the SXP2 mount, larger ball bearings are used than in previous models to increase accuracy and payload capacity. The mount housing also features greater material thickness. To make the polar block even more stable, the axis cross is firmly clamped into a fork. Very precise tracking with P-PEC functionThe SXP2 mount is delivered with the modern STAR BOOK TEN controller. It offers you the P-PEC function for particularly precise tracking. The term 'PEC' stands for 'Periodic Error Correction.' The system corrects mechanical errors that cause periodic errors in the gear systems. The SXP2 equatorial mount provides a P-PEC function derived from the PEC function. The P-PEC function saves your correction records even after the mount's power is turned off. This means you don’t have to re-enter the data each time, allowing for faster operation and more accurate tracking. Quiet belt drive system with minimal play In conventional motor drive systems of equatorial mounts, gears are used, which are driven by the motor. However, this design has the disadvantage that a certain amount of play occurs between the gears. To avoid the inaccuracies caused by this, the SXP2 mount uses a belt drive system. This significantly reduces both gear play and drive noise. In addition, the device responds more quickly when corrections need to be made. 16 bearings The mechanical parts of the SXP2 mount contain a total of 16 bearings. A set of tapered roller bearings is used for the RA axis to provide more stability for more precise tracking. Stable altitude block for alignment The SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavier AXJ mount. This new construction enables quick and stable latitude adjustment. Simple and precise polar alignment via reference stars The 6x20 polar finder is already pre-installed. This allows you to adjust the polar alignment (for both the northern and southern hemispheres). The polar finder offers a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic shut-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 steps, allowing you to tailor it to your individual needs. Additionally, the polar finder is equipped with direct alignment using three reference stars and can achieve an accuracy of up to 3 arc minutes. Variable mount head The mount head has a diameter of 35 mm and eight threaded holes for M8 screws, arranged at 45-degree intervals. An optional accessory plate can be attached directly or in combination with an optional mounting block for dovetail plates. Additionally, the threaded holes on the mount head allow the use of mounting rails from other manufacturers. ATTENTION: For mounting Vixen standard dovetail rails, the X000266 adapter is also required. Combination of innovative, elegant design and user-friendly operation The stable, rigid mount body with very precise tracking has been further optimised by the P-PEC function. This makes the SXP2 a highly precise and easy-to-use mount that will delight every astrophotographer and observer. Special motor placement for fewer counterweights The heavy RA and DEC motor units are housed in the lower part of the declination, so the centre of gravity of the axis cross lies beneath the RA and DEC axes. As a result, the declination body acts as a counterweight. The flat mount head also allows the mount to be balanced with significantly fewer counterweights. Retractable counterweight bar The counterweight bar is made of solid stainless steel and has a diameter of 20 mm. It can be used with all counterweights from the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight bar is housed in the declination body. Accessory shoe For simple and quick polar alignment, the #35511 Polar Meter can be slid onto this shoe. Latitude adjustment The latitude can be adjusted between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium, and low latitudes). The Vixen Wifi adapter in detail The Vixen Wifi adapter for EQ mounts allows you to control your Vixen mount via a smartphone or tablet. With the free STAR BOOK Wireless smartphone app, you can navigate the sky without any cables. The app transforms your mobile device into a controller for the equatorial mount in no time. The response delay of the mount, often considered the greatest disadvantage of wireless connections, has been reduced to a level comparable with wired solutions. Reduced power consumption compared to conventional controllers with LCD monitors The power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%, allowing for longer observations compared to traditional wired controllers such as the STAR BOOK TEN. Operation similar to the STAR BOOK TEN controller The STAR BOOK Wireless app is structured similarly to the STAR BOOK TEN controller. Depending on the star chart settings, it contains up to 259,000 celestial objects. Simply tap on a celestial object from the object list to start GoTo. The mount will automatically move to the target and place it in the telescope's field of view. All the popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN remain available to you. Comfortable operation While looking through the telescope, you can control the mount by swiping on the star map in the app. Since there are no buttons, you simply glide your finger over the star map to comfortably operate the mount. Extensive astronomical data included This includes data for well-observed celestial bodies such as Messier objects, NGC objects, IC objects, as well as the Sun, Moon, planets, comets, and dwarf planets. High-precision alignment By aligning with one or two stars, you already achieve quite accurate positioning of the mount. Aligning with three or more stars allows for high-precision alignment of the mount, suitable for high magnifications. The objects will then be approached exactly and centered in the telescope's field of view. The alignment information is saved and can be retained even when the device is turned off. By leaving the telescope in its current state after an observation, without moving it, you can start the next observation with the same settings through automatic installation. Custom settings The app offers various custom settings, as in the STAR BOOK TEN controller, such as gear backlash compensation, night mode in red, autoguider, and variable GoTo speed and LED brightness. You can also set the time for the reversal of the telescope tube (Meridian Flip) as desired. Even if the object moves south during tracking, you can prevent the telescope tube from flipping over.Important information Not usable with old SX mounts that use the old blue Star Book. Vixen VSD70SS F5.5 Astrograph Telescope
Fast 70mm high-performance astrograph F5.5 designed for demanding astrophotographers and observers, featuring 5 lens elements in 5 groups With its sophisticated optical design incorporating five lens elements in five groups (Quintuplet), including two SD (Super ED) lenses and one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens, this astrograph delivers a virtually aberration-free optical system. The convex lens utilises two SD lenses and a high-refractive ED lens, while the front lens is crafted from a newly developed high-performance lanthanum glass. Perfect for astrophotography and visual observation This revolutionary astrograph is compatible with digital full-frame DSLRs and even larger 44 x 33 mm cameras. With its fast F5.5 aperture ratio, the 70mm astrograph produces exceptionally sharp, high-contrast, pinpoint stars from the centre to the very edges of the field of view. Not only is it ideal for astrophotography, but it also excels in visual observation, offering a wide field of view for deep-sky objects and delivering stunning detail in planetary observation with high magnification. Consistently sharp imaging across the entire field The VSD70ss is designed with a long peak range in focus adjustment accuracy, making it easier for astrophotographers to achieve consistently outstanding results. Even if the focus isn’t set perfectly, stars remain round and sharp across the entire image field. The VSD70ss is very temperature-resistant so that you always keep a very stable focus point. Minimal vignetting for uniform illuminationMost astrographs experience some level of optical vignetting (light gradually diminishes towards the image edges). This is mainly caused by the rear lenses being shadowed by the front lenses. As a result, photographers often need to apply image corrections or capture additional flat frames beforehand. The VSD70ss tackles this issue with large-aperture lenses in the rear elements and preserves over 90% of the light all the way to the edge of its 55mm image circle. The result is uniform brightness across the entire field, eliminating the need for extensive post-processing to compensate for edge darkening. The VSD70ss features cutting-edge multi-coatings with exceptionally high reflectivity. These coatings have been specially designed to optimise the performance of each individual lens element, ensuring maximum contrast and light transmission without degradation across multiple lenses. Note: *Mechanical vignetting may still occur depending on the camera system used, particularly due to the camera body or incorrect adapters. 96.7% Strehl for stunning visual observations When paired with a wide-angle eyepiece with low magnification the VSD70ss offers a flattened large field of view. Even with a high-quality wide-field eyepiece with a large field of view, stars appear sharp across the entire field of view during visual observation. At the centre of the field, the telescope achieves an impressive 96.7% Strehl intensity at visible wavelengths—surpassing even the acclaimed SD81SII apochromat with its 95.7% Strehl ratio. This superior optical quality is also evident when observing the Moon and planets at high magnifications. Large, versatile, and stable focuser The VSD70ss has a large focuser with a diameter of 87.5mm to make optimum use of the large 55mm field of illumination. Designed to support a wide range of accessories, this large focuser is perfect for astrophotography, accommodating everything up to large-format cameras or 35mm full-frame DSLR cameras. Its precision manufacturing ensures excellent stability, preventing any tilting even when using heavy imaging equipment. Optional VSD reducer for even faster resultsThe new reducer has been specially developed for the VSD90ss and the VSD70ss. At a focal ratio of 1:3.9. the photographer gets even faster results in astrophotography. Compatible with motorised focusersTo enable sensitive focusing, an optional dual-speed motor focuser is available for the VSD70ss. Additionally, an EAF (Electronic Automatic Focuser) from ZWO or a compatible system can be retrofitted. Vixen SXD2WL VC200L Telescope Set
SXD2WL VC200L Cassegrain Telescope Complete Set with GoTo Mount, Tripod, and EyepiecesThis high-quality telescope set impresses with its large 200-mm Cassegrain mirror optics optimized for photography with a flattener. The telescope is manufactured in Japan and scores with its excellent workmanship, sharpness, and contrast performance. The advantage of this telescope also lies in its short, open design and its low weight. Thus, the optics cool down faster than a closed system. The VISAC primary mirror (= Vixen Sixth-Order Aspheric Cassegrain) is specially designed for astrophotography and delivers a completely flat and color-true image across the entire field of view. Spherical aberration, coma, and field curvature are absolute foreign concepts for this optic. The reason for this is the three-lens field corrector in front of the convex secondary mirror.Although the telescope is optimized for astrophotography, it can of course also be used for visual observation. A special coating technique (state-of-the-art technology) provides the optimal mirror surface for observing and photographing deep-sky objects. It allows for controlled coating and individually corrects errors on the mirrors. You will be amazed when you observe the moon's surface with its craters or Saturn with its ring system. On Jupiter, on a good night, many smaller details in the cloud bands will be visible, as well as the Great Red Spot on the planet. On moonless nights, you can observe the Andromeda Nebula, Orion Nebula, Eagle Nebula, Lagoon Nebula and many other interesting faint objects. The brighter globular clusters can be easily resolved into individual stars. This telescope set "Made in Japan" simply leaves no wishes unfulfilled. The large 60-mm eyepiece drawtube allows for the attachment of heavy cameras without tilting. In addition, the supplied flip mirror enables comfortable observation even in unfavorable observing situations and also offers a T2 thread for connecting a DSLR camera. Thus, you can observe in straight view or at a 90° angle. The carrying handle attached to the tube clamps ensures safe transport of the telescope. The sturdy metal tripod allows for a vibration-free setup of the telescope and mount even in windy weather. The SXD2WL mount is simply operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or tablet. For user-friendly control of the mount, the free STAR BOOK Wireless app is available. This allows you to use practical functions of celestial navigation such as automatic GoTo swivelling to specific celestial objects very easily via your smartphone or tablet. As the power consumption of the conventional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is eliminated, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%. This enables astronomical observations and astrophotography over longer periods. By tapping the desired celestial object from a list, it automatically swivels into the telescope's field of view and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN control can also be used on this mount without any problems. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the flagship model, the AXD mount, the SXD2WL brings a new standard of performance and precision to the Vixen mount family. The axis cross of the mount has a photographic carrying capacity of 15 kg while weighing only 9.2 kg, making it excellent for mobile observations. Moreover, the motors located in the lower part of the mount also serve as counterweights. This means the mount requires fewer weights for balancing. Details of the SXD2 Mount Precision stepper motors and Micro-Step Motion Control System The heart of the SXD2 are the precision stepper motors, offering better performance and response than previous models. The Micro-Step Motion Control System is noted for its powerful yet very quiet driving characteristics, suitable for both fine movements and rapid swivelling. Built-in bearings The bearings of the RA and DEC axes and the worm shafts have been significantly improved to reduce the load on the motors. As a result, the motors move much more quietly than in previous models. High-precision worm gears Advanced manufacturing technologies have eliminated errors in worm gears. The edges of both the worms and worm gears are exceptionally smooth, allowing very precise tracking. Declination axis as counterweight The massive motor units are built into the lower part of the declination axis, lowering the center of gravity of the SXD2 just below the intersection point of the RA and DEC axes. This reduces the need for additional counterweights. Latitude adjustment The latitude is adjustable between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium, and low latitudes); latitude scale in 2-degree steps; fine adjustment with a tangent screw head, about 0.8 degrees per turn. Built-in PFL-II Polar Finder with Illumination The built-in 5x20 mm polar finder with a 10° field of view features a 3-star alignment system. This eliminates the tedious setting of date and time. The illuminated reticle with variable brightness and automatic shutoff is adjustable in 8 steps and illuminated in red. The alignment accuracy is 3 arc minutes. Details of the Wireless Module The Vixen Wifi Adapter for EQ mounts enables you to control your Vixen mount via a smartphone or tablet. With the STAR BOOK Wireless smartphone app (free), celestial navigation is simple and wireless. The app instantly transforms your mobile device into a control for the equatorial mount. The reaction delay of the mount, a major disadvantage of wireless connections, has been reduced to a level comparable to wired solutions. Reduced power consumption compared to traditional controls with an LCD monitor The power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%, allowing for longer observations than with traditional wired controls like the STAR BOOK TEN. Operation similar to the STAR BOOK TEN control The STAR BOOK Wireless App is set up similarly to the STAR BOOK TEN control. Depending on the star chart setting, it contains up to 259,000 celestial objects. Tap a celestial object in the list and start the GoTo. The mount will now automatically move to this target and bring it into the field of view of the telescope. All popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN are retained. Convenient operation While looking through the telescope, you operate the mount by swiping on the star chart in the app. Since there are no buttons, you simply glide your finger across the star chart to easily operate the mount. Extensive astronomical data included This includes data on easily observable celestial bodies such as Messier objects, NGC objects, IC objects, as well as the sun, moon, planets, comets, and dwarf planets. High-precision alignment Alignment on one or two stars already provides a fairly accurate positioning of the mount. Alignment on three or more stars allows for extremely precise alignment of the mount for high magnifications. The objects are then positioned exactly and centrally in the field of view of your telescope. The alignment information is stored and can also be retained when the device is turned off. By leaving the telescope in its current state after an observation, without moving it, you can start the next observation with the same settings. Individual adjustment options As with the STAR BOOK TEN control, the app offers various individual settings such as gear play compensation, red night mode, autoguider, variable GoTo speed, and LED brightness. You can also set the time of reversal of the objective tube (Meridian Flip) according to your preference. Even if the object moves south during tracking, you can prevent the telescope tube from reversing. Important Information Not usable on old SX mounts with the old blue Star Book Technical Information about the Wifi Module CPU with 32-bit CISC processor at 120 MHz The unit connects to the mount via a D-SUB 9PIN connector, as with the STAR BOOK TEN.
