With this complete telescope set, you can immediately begin your hobby. It includes everything you need for astronomical observation: the telescope, an automatic mount with GoTo alignment and tracking, a tripod, and two eyepieces.
The SXP2WL mount comes with the PFL-II polar finder for quick and easy alignment using reference stars and the STAR BOOK APP. This allows your telescope to automatically locate the objects you've selected. The 259,000 celestial objects are already preloaded in the STAR BOOK APP.
The VC200L Cassegrain telescope is optimized for photography and delivers a sharp and high-contrast image to the edges of the camera chip. You can look forward to breathtaking, razor-sharp images of galaxies and nebulae. But it is also excellent for visual observation, providing high-contrast images without color errors.
You'll be amazed when you take a look at the lunar surface with its many craters or observe Saturn with its ring system.
The SXP2WL mount is operated easily via a WiFi module with your smartphone or tablet. The user-friendly STAR BOOK Wireless app is available free of charge to control the mount. This app allows you to easily use convenient sky navigation functions like automatic GoTo slewing to specific celestial objects directly from your smartphone or tablet. As the power consumption of the traditional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is eliminated, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%. This enables longer periods of astronomical observation and astrophotography
The cross-axis of the SXP2 mount, with a photographic load capacity of 17 kg, weighs just 13.3 kg, making it ideal for mobile observations. Additionally, the motors installed in the lower part of the mount serve as counterweights. This reduces the need for additional counterweights
Very precise tracking with P-PEC function
The SXP2 mount comes with the modern STAR BOOK TEN controller. It provides you with the P-PEC function for particularly precise tracking. The term 'PEC' stands for 'Periodic Error Correction.' The system corrects the mechanical errors caused by periodic errors in the gear systems. The P-PEC function stores your correction data even after the mount's power is turned off, so you don’t need to re-enter the data each time, allowing for faster operation and more accurate tracking
Low-noise belt drive system with minimal backlash
In conventional motor drive systems for equatorial mounts, gears are driven by the motor. However, this design has the disadvantage of introducing some play between the gears. To avoid the inaccuracies that arise from this, the SXP2 mount uses a belt drive system. This significantly reduces both the play in the gears and the operating noise. Additionally, the device responds more quickly to corrections
16 bearings
The mechanical parts of the SXP2 mount feature a total of 16 bearings. The RA axis is supported by a set of tapered roller bearings, providing more stability for precise tracking
Stable polar block for alignment
The SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavier AXJ mount. This new design enables fast and stable latitude adjustment
Simple and accurate polar alignment using reference stars
The 6x20 polar finder is pre-installed. It allows you to adjust polar alignment for both the northern and southern hemispheres. The polar finder provides a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic shutoff function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 levels, so you can customize it to your personal needs. Additionally, the polar finder comes with direct adjustment using three reference stars and can achieve an accuracy of up to 3 arc minutes
Variable mount head
The mount head has a diameter of 35 mm and eight threaded holes for M8 screws, arranged at 45-degree intervals. An optional accessory plate can be attached directly or in combination with an optional mounting block for dovetail plates. Additionally, the threaded holes on the mount head allow for the use of mounting rails from other manufacturers
Combination of innovative, elegant design and user-friendly operation
The stable, rigid mount body with very accurate tracking has been further optimized by the P-PEC function. The SXP2 is a highly precise and easy-to-use mount that will delight every astrophotographer and observer
The heavy RA and DEC motor units are located in the lower part of the declination body, placing the center of gravity of the cross-axis beneath the RA and DEC axes. As a result, the declination body acts as a counterweight. Additionally, the flat mounting head enables the mount to be balanced with significantly fewer counterweights
The counterweight shaft is made of solid stainless steel and has a diameter of 20 mm. It is compatible with all counterweights from the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight shaft is housed in the declination body
For simple and quick polar alignment, the #35511 Polar Meter can be slid onto this shoe
The latitude is adjustable between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone for high, medium, and low latitudes)
The power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%, allowing for longer observation periods compared to traditional wired controllers like the STAR BOOK TEN
The STAR BOOK Wireless app is similarly structured to the STAR BOOK TEN controller. It contains up to 259,000 celestial objects depending on the star chart settings. Simply select a celestial object from the object list and start GoTo. The mount will automatically slew to the target and bring it into the telescope's field of view. All popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN are retained
When looking through the telescope, you can control the mount by swiping on the app’s star chart. Since there are no buttons, you can easily glide your finger over the star chart and comfortably control the mount
This includes not only data on well-observed celestial bodies such as Messier objects, NGC objects, IC objects, but also the Sun, Moon, planets, comets, and dwarf planets
By aligning with one or two stars, you can already achieve relatively accurate mount positioning. Aligning with three or more stars allows for highly precise mount alignment for high magnifications. The objects are then exactly centered in the telescope’s field of view. The alignment information is saved and can be retained even when the device is turned off. If you leave the telescope in its current state after a session, you can start the next session with the same settings without moving it
The app, like the STAR BOOK TEN controller, offers various customizable settings such as gear backlash compensation, night mode in red, autoguider, variable GoTo speed, and LED brightness. You can also adjust the moment of the meridian flip (telescope tube inversion) as needed. Even if the object moves south during tracking, you can prevent the telescope tube from inverting
CPU with 32-bit CISC processor 120 MHz
The unit is connected to the mount via a D-SUB 9PIN connector as with the STAR BOOK TEN. It has a 6-pin 6-wire modular connector for external autoguider operation. Supported operating systems are Android 6 or higher, iOS 9.0 or higher, WiFi standard: IEEE 802.11b/g/n
