This high-quality Newtonian telescope set impresses with its large 200 mm aperture and fast focal ratio for photography.
The telescope is manufactured in Japan and scores with its excellent workmanship, sharpness and contrast performance.
The advantage of this telescope is its low weight and short focal length, making it ideal for larger deep-sky objects.
You will be amazed when you use it to observe the surface of the moon with its craters or Saturn with its ring system.
On a good night, many smaller details will be visible in the cloud bands on Jupiter, such as the large red spot on the planet.

Precision stepper motors and micro-step motion control system
At the heart of the SX2 are the precision stepper motors, which offer better performance and response than previous models. The micro-step motion control system scores with powerful yet very smooth drive characteristics, which are present in both fine movements and fast pans.
Built-in bearings
The bearings of the RA and DEC axes and the worm shafts have been significantly improved to reduce the load on the motors. As a result, the motors move much more smoothly than in previous models.
High-precision worm gears
High-precision processing technologies eliminate worm gear errors. The running surfaces of the two worms and worm wheels are manufactured to be particularly smooth, enabling very precise tracking.
Declination axis as counterweight
The massive motor units are installed in the lower part of the declination axis so that the center of gravity of the SX2WL is below the intersection point of the RA and DEC axes. This means you need fewer additional counterweights.
Latitude adjustment
The latitude is adjustable between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable in +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium and low latitudes); latitude scale in 2-degree increments; fine adjustment with a tangent screw head, approx. 0.8 degrees per turn.

Details of the R200SS Telescope
The f/4-200 mm optics of the R200SS impress with a great light-gathering capacity and are equipped with a parabolic primary mirror, thus delivering extremely sharp images without chromatic aberration. A special coating (state-of-the-art technology) provides the optimal surface for the observation and photography of deep-sky objects.
Vixen has developed a unique aluminium vacuum coating system that produces extremely precise mirror surfaces. This revolutionary Vixen system allows for greater precision through the controlled coating of the primary mirror. This coating is also used in the VMC200L/VC200L, in addition to the R200SS.
With its large aperture and short focal length, the R200SS telescope is ideally suited for astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters, and comets. The use of an optional coma corrector (not included) enables sharp imaging right to the corners of a full-frame DSLR camera. The eyepiece drawtube is equipped with a 60-mm thread for 60-mm adapters for various applications.

The SLV eyepieces with high-quality lanthanum glass provide remarkably clear and high-contrast images of the night sky right to the edge of the field of view. The lanthanum elements almost completely eliminate chromatic aberration, producing a colour-neutral image right up to the edges. The lenses are also fully multi-coated for high light transmission.
The eyecup can be twisted up and down, making the eyepiece suitable for glasses wearers. The large exit pupil distance of 20 mm means that the eye does not become fatigued during longer periods of use, and the entire field of view can be seen clearly even when wearing glasses.

Adjusting your eyes to the dark surroundings is very important when making astronomical observations.
In dark areas, it is very difficult to use astronomical equipment without a suitable light.
With normal lights, however, the light intensity is more important than protecting your eyes against bright light.
Using these lights at night makes your pupils contract, which can make it difficult for your eyes to readjust to the darkness.
The SG-L01, our first astronomy LED lamp, featured a built-in red LED that provided a solution to this problem.
However, the red light did not offer optimal visibility. On our new astronomy LED light, the SG-L02, the LED lights produce warm light to improve visibility.
They also ensure that your eyes stay adapted to the dark.
The LEDs do not emit light in the sensitive range of 555 nm.
The brightness of the white light can be adjusted between 3 and 42 lumen, while the red light can be adjusted between 0.28 and 7.62 lumen.

The Vixen 60DA Focal adaptor connects your Canon EOS DSLR Camera to a telescope with an appropriate 60 mm Focuser Drawtube Thread. Thanks to the use of new materials and an improved design Vixen was able to considerably uprate both precision and durability, when compared to conventional rotational camera adaptors. Two sets of rotational locking bolts (Long and Short) are supplied. The longer ones are knurled and easy to turn by hand. The shorter options help to prevent marring of the camera casing, when using certain designs of camera and are also much less easy to turn by hand, increasing security if you need the camera locked in a particular rotational position for longer periods.
The large inner dimension of this adaptor prevents vignetting at the edges of the image when using full frame DSLR cameras.

Made in Japan and designed for astrophotography, this premium extender lens system converts the R200SS parabolic mirror Newton reflector into an F5.6 astrograph. The Extender PH kit was developed to increase the focal length by a factor of 1.4x
It increases the focal length of the 800 mm (F4) R200SS Newton reflector to 1120 mm (F5.6).
The optical system structure of 4 elements in 3 groups corrects the coma error to render sharp images up to the edge of the field of view.
The extender illuminates the field of a full-frame camera (44 image circle).
When used in combination with the eyepiece adapter, the 31.7 mm eyepiece can be used for visual observations.
The same anti-reflective AS coatings used on our high-end VSD 100 f/3.8 astrograph are also used here to provide an outstanding light transmission of 99.9% per lens surface.

Vixen Polarscope PF-L II for AP & SX Mounts

Vixen’s latest design of polar finder, allows a simple, hassle-free method of polar alignment. The Vixen Polarscope PF-L II for AP & SX mounts has a reticule showing the Pole star (Polaris) and two other stars (Delta UMi and 51 Cep) in their precise positions. By turning the Polarscope you can easily match the reticle with the asterism of these stars in the sky and mechanically adjust your mount’s azimuth and altitude axes to align to the true North Pole. You can then adjust the Polar star to a more precise alignment using the reticule’s year marking (which runs from 2015 to 2040, but in practise can be used much longer after this) .
Using this alignment process, with visual reference to the actual stars in the sky, a complicated alignment, using date and time to calculate Polaris offset from the pole is unnecessary. For alignment in the Southern Hemisphere you simply use the Trapezium asterism (Sigma, Chi, Tau and Upsilon Octantis) of the constellation Octans and position the reticule with the trapezium stars aligned to their marked positions.
The Polarscope has built-in LED illumination, which is dimmable in many stages, and ensures an automatic shut-off after 2 minutes, saving your battery life.
The PFL-II also has an improved edge sharpness, when compared with its predecessor.
