High-performance flattener and reducer set The kit consists of a high-performance flattener, a reducer for reducing the focal length, and connection rings (distance ring SD81, EX Tube 66), which were developed for prime-focus astrophotography with the SD81S, SD103S and SD115S telescopes. The flattener and the 0.79x reducer deliver a significant increase in telescope performance and image quality. You obtain a flat and sharp image until the edges, including with a full-frame DSLR camera. Vixen has developed a new generation of SX mounts for demanding observers and astrophotographers. The SXD2WL mount is simply operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or tablet. By controlling the mount with your smartphone using the free STAR BOOK Wireless app, you can easily use sky navigation functions such as automatic GoTo panning of celestial objects via your smartphone or tablet. By eliminating the power consumption of the conventional LCD (STAR BOOK TEN), the power consumption on the mount is reduced by up to 20%, thus enabling longer astronomical observation and astrophotography. When the desired celestial object is selected from a list, it is automatically panned into the telescope's field of view and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used on this mount without any problems. The perfect LED head torch for nighttime observations! Adjusting your eyes to the dark surroundings is very important when making astronomical observations. In dark areas, it is very difficult to use astronomical equipment without a suitable light. With normal lights, however, the light intensity is more important than protecting your eyes against bright light. Using these lights at night makes your pupils contract, which can make it difficult for your eyes to readjust to the darkness. The SG-L01, our first astronomy LED lamp, featured a built-in red LED that provided a solution to this problem. However, the red light did not offer optimal visibility. One of the most important obstacles for the exploration of the night sky is the brightening of the night sky by artificial lights, such as streetlights. The night sky is not really dark in the vicinity of towns or cities, which reduces the visibility of objects beyond the solar system enormously. Depending on the type of the celestial object, it is possible to dramatically increase the contrast by blocking annoying artificial light. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC UHC filter "zeros in" on the wavelengths of so-called emission nebulae. Those objects glow in special colours - their emission lines. Those emission lines are linked to chemical elements - in this case hydrogen at 486nm and 656nm, plus oxygen at 496nm and 501nm. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC UHC nebula filter blocks all other colour wavelengths (and thereby nearly all of artificial light) and only the emission line of the hydrogen and oxygen can pass the filter. The result is astonishing: suddenly nebulae are visible at locations that were completely invisible from, without filters. In suburban skies, for example the Owl-nebula M97, the Veil-nebula NGC 6992 or even the bright Dumbell-nebula M27 are not clearly visible. Using this filter allows you to see nebulae and their structures in much finer detail. A must for every visual observer. The Vixen focal adapter can be used to connect your DSLR camera to your telescope via a 60-mm thread. The large internal diameter of the adapter prevents shadows at the edges of the image when using a full-frame DSLR camera. The focal adapter can also be rotated to rotate the field of view selection. The Vixen 60 mm to M48 camera adapter is used to mount an astronomical CMOS camera to Vixen telescopes with a 60 mm focuser. The adapter is suitable for cameras or accessories with an M48 × 0.75 internal thread. You can directly connect third-party CMOS cameras and other products with an M48 thread. (Depending on the CMOS camera, an extension tube (optional) may be required.) The adapter can be freely rotated by loosening the clamping screws to orient the image as desired. Using the optional M56 Filter Conversion Adapter 48/52, you can attach 48 mm / 52 mm third-party photographic filters.
