Never look at the sun through an eyepiece/telescope without a certified protection filter. A moon filter can never be used for solar observation. The moon filter is only suitable for moon observation. The solar filter must be mounted in front of the telescope opening, not at the eyepiece. Otherwise, the concentrated light beam through the optics will immediately destroy the filter foil, leading to severe eye damage, including permanent blindness.
Never leave the optics unattended. Children and inexperienced adults could point the telescope at the sun without proper precautions and lose their eyesight.
The POLARIE U is an ultra-compact automatic star tracking device that can be easily transported. In addition to the functions of conventional star trackers, which track a camera for a long exposures, accurately tracking the regular movement of celestial objects, the POLARIE U has a speed adjustment function, which allows it to be used as a panning mount too for time lapse photography.Using a smartphone, you can control the shutter release intervals of the images. Through the communication between the smartphone and the POLARIE U Star Tracker, you can control the exposures and take beautiful, sharp pictures of the stars and the Milky Way without getting any star trailing. The Star Tracker is very small and light weight, making it ideal for mobile use or air travel. The Vixen POLARIE U Star Tracker in detail:Star-scape photography (stars and landscape).A silhouetted landscape on earth is photographed together with the starry sky. The beauty of a landscape and the starry sky can be shown together on one photo. POLARIE U opens up a wonderful foreign world of star-scape photography and makes this possible for both beginners and advanced photographers.Conventional telescopic astrophotography photographs a relatively narrow area of the sky. Star-scape photography mainly uses a wide-angle lens and takes impressive photos in which stars, and other celestial targets such as the majestic Milky Way and landscapes are combined. The possibilities of the compositions are endless and a completely new kind of landscape photography opens up.Weight reduction of more than 20% and improved load capacity. The structure of the original POLARIE has been completely changed. The distance between the two bearings that support the rotating shaft is about four times the distance of the previous model. This leads to a higher load capacity despite the weight reduction of 20%. The maximum load capacity is 2.5 kg (approx. 2.5 kg at 10 cm from the centre of rotation) when used for wide-field astrophotography. The maximum load capacity is increased to 6.5 kg (approx. 6.5 kg at 10 cm from the centre of rotation) when a POLARIE Multi mounting block (optional) and a dovetail slide rail DD (optional) are combined. In addition, used in vertical configuration, the POLARIE U can reach a load capacity of 10 kg (approx. 10 kg 10 cm from the centre of rotation) for time-lapse photography and is therefore suitable for heavy camera equipment.Settings via SmartphoneCommunication between tracker and smartphone via the Vixen Polarie U App enables various settings via smartphones or tablet. For star/landscape photography, the speed is selected in user-defined mode, and for time-lapse photography, settings for interval time, exposure, and rotation speed can also be easily programmed.Five different speeds:Star-scape photography (half star speed). This setting is intended for displaying a landscape together with the starry sky. The stars are not tracked exactly, but slower in order not to blur the landscape in the foreground. This way you get beautiful images of the landscape and the starry sky.Wide Field Astrophotography (Star Speed)When this mode is selected, the POLARIE U follows the stars at the same speed as the daily movement of the stars. In this mode, widefield long time exposures of comets, nebulae, star clusters and the Milky Way are made and tracked precisely.Solar Tracking (solar speed)For recording solar eclipses over a long period of time.Moon Tracking (moon speed)For recording lunar eclipses over a long period of time.Custom ModeThis allows you to set the POLARIE U to the desired tracking speed. The initial setting is four times the star speed. If you want to change the setting for a different speed, a smartphone or other wifi device and application software are required.Shoot-Move-Shoot ModeIt is possible to stop the movement of the camera during the exposure and restart it after the end of the exposure. It is also equipped with a camera connector (shutter release) that controls the camera shutter during shooting with SMS or interval shooting. If the camera in use is connected with the cable release, the settings can be easily adjusted using a smartphone. A Wi-Fi connection is required when using this feature. An additional cable is required to connect the camera and POLARIE U together.Autoguider portCommercially available autoguiders can be used with the POLARIE U (Usable only in R.A.). An important new feature over the original Polarie - attach a small Guidescope, or Off Axis Guider and autoguiding camera to your main camera and use the standard ST-4 protocol port to guide the Polarie U in Right Ascension, ensuring absolute accuracy of tracking (requires additional separate computer, or standalone guider). The Vixen POLARIE is a new camera accessory, that enables you to capture sharp, point-like images of the stars. It has been developed to track the stars and to compensate for the movement of the earth. POLARIE enables you to take atmospheric shots of landscapes and the night sky and can also capture these in sharp images. Extremely simple and compact design for use in every location on earth.
If you have ever viewed a romantic, starry sky, you will surely have felt the desire to capture it on film. But if you have tried to do this, you will know that it’s really not all that easy. This is because you need to have multiple exposures of several minutes if you want to photograph the stars. As our earth is always turning on its axis, the stars keep moving as time passes and become long strokes on photographs. Today’s digital technology gives us the option of obtaining shorter exposure times by increasing the sensitivity of the sensor, but, unfortunately, this dramatically increases picture noise and the picture becomes very noisy and ugly. This makes it impossible to take beautiful images of the night sky. For this reason, the Vixen company has developed the Polarie Star Tracker, which eliminates the problem of star migration. When you attach your camera to the Polarie, the device will track in the opposite direction of earth’s rotation and this allows for sharp, point-like images of the starry sky even when using long exposure times.
POLARIE is a new and unique camera accessory for photographing the night sky, with perfectly point-like stars being tracked. Using the simplest solution, it makes the experience of photographing the night sky more accessible for everyone. The multi-functional mode dial is adjustable for sky- and landscape-, moon-, sun- and star-tracking. Polar altimeter for a fast focus. Also included: USB connection for external power supply and a built-in compass for quick orientation. Available as optional extra accessories are a polar finder telescope for exact alignment with the celestial pole for long-exposure photography including into the telephoto range, and a tripod.

In the northern hemisphere*, simply position the polar star and two additional stars in the finder’s field of view so that each star is aligned with the corresponding positions in the finder reticle. This enables you to easily configure the equatorial mount with an accuracy of 3 arc minutes or less. The new design of the polar scope eyepiece improves the visibility of stars and makes the scale easier to read. *Three stars for polar orientation in the southern hemisphere are located in Octans.
What is the polar alignment scope?
The polar alignment scope is a small telescope that is installed parallel to the R.A. axis of an equatorial mount such that it matches the R.A. axis to be parallel in the direction of the diurnal motion of stars. The polar alignment scope utilizes 3 stars (Polaris, Delta UMi and 51 Cep) near the north celestial pole. To locate the north celestial pole, simply align the positions on the reticle in the polar alignment scope with the 3 designated stars. In addition, the patterns of the Big Dipper and Cassiopeia are engraved on the polar alignment reticle for use as a guide for the north celestial pole. The polar alignment scope can align the polar axis of the equatorial mount as accurately as 3 arc minutes or less.
The marks and patterns on the built-in reticle provide everything that you need for polar alignment
The necessary information for polar alignment is integrated into the reticle, which is designed for locating the north (or south) celestial pole. It is not necessary to configure an hour angle setting in the dark. This makes polar alignment easier, as you can look through the eyepiece of the polar alignment scope.

Dark field illumination (with automatic power off function)
The switch on the polar alignment scope’s brightness adjustment dial illuminates the reticle in red when activated. Compared with bright field illumination, this prevents less bright stars from disappearing from the scope's field of view. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 levels by turning the brightness adjustment dial. The red light dims gradually after a certain period of time and turns off automatically.
Easy to set up
Remove the mounting block on the front side and the cap on the rear side of the POLARIE. Then insert the POLARIE PF-L finder scope into the POLARIE to complete the installation. The telescope is ready for use in no time!

Universal 60mm viewfinder and guide telescope with a focal length of 250mmExcellent 10x60
viewfinder telescope with removable eyepiece unit and crosshairs with
adjustable red illumination. The larger aperture and focal length, provide an even brighter field of view and more accurate tracking due to the higher resolution. The precise helical focuser and the 1.25
inch /31.7mm plug-in connection, as well as the T2 camera connection
thread (M42x0.75mm), allow the autoguiding required for long time
exposure to obtain a point-shaped star image. It can also be used as a
mini travel telescope.High quality 10x60 viewfinder telescope with adjustable crosshair illuminationImage
sharpness and viewing characteristics lift this viewfinder well above
the level of the usual 10x60 viewfinder scopes. The visible image is
bright and crisply sharp. Furthermore, this viewfinder has a very large
field of view (FOV) of 6.0 degrees. This makes finding and adjusting
objects much easier. The existing scale markings (pitch=0.85 degree) on the
crosshair are a good reference for estimating distances, and the open
centre markings also make it easier to centre objects precisely. All
lens surfaces are protected against weathering by multi-coating and
guarantee a bright viewfinder image due to the high light transmission
values. The adjustable red LED illumination unit is powered by two LR41
coin batteries. The main lens and the crosshairs can be focused
independently of each other, giving you perfect focus for your eyes.Compact tracking unit for autoguidingOne
of the main applications for this telescope is the so-called
autoguiding. Here the usually larger photo-taking optics are actively
corrected by a smaller guiding telescope with a second tracking camera.
This means that the mechanical fluctuations in the tracking accuracy,
which are present in all astronomical telescope mounts, are measured by
the tracking camera and compensated accordingly. This is necessary in
order to obtain a point-shaped star image on the astrophotos during long
time exposures and to avoid unwanted star trails. For this purpose, the
guiding telescope is inserted into the existing viewfinder shoe of the
photo-taking optics and aligned parallel. If the existing viewfinder
shoe is not compatible, a suitable viewfinder shoe is also included.
With the 1.25 inch / 31,7mm plug connection at the rear end or via T2
thread connection (M42x0,75mm), a tracking camera can be mounted
afterwards. This is held securely by a brass ring clamp and 3 clamping
screws. Please note the required back focus for your tracking camera.
The focal plane (backfocus) is approx. 22mm behind the T2 thread. The
sensitive focusing on the guiding star is done by a large knurled wheel
of the mechanically precise manufactured helical focuser. For easy
reproduction of the point of focus, this has a white millimetre scale
from 0 to 28mm, which is attached by laser engraving. After the tracking
camera has been connected directly or via computer to the telescope
mount and the necessary basic settings have been made, the first
astrophotos with long time exposure can be taken.Use as mini travel telescopeThis
viewfinder and guide telescope can also be used quite simply as a mini
travel telescope. With the optional eyepieces, a magnification of 9x to 50x can be achieved. Nearly all eyepieces with a focal length of 5 to
26mm and 1.25 inch/31.7mm plug connection are suitable. Especially
recommended are the EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC eyepieces of the 52 degree (Art.
02195xx) and 62 degree (02196xx) LER series. Note: Only straight view
use is possible.Metal viewfinder holder and viewfinder shoeThe
mount of this viewfinder and guide telescope is completely made of
aluminium and is a stable base. The viewfinder mount is suitable for
many common types of telescopes, such as EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC, BRESSER
MESSIER etc. If the existing viewfinder shoe is not compatible, a
matching viewfinder shoe is also included. This can be attached to the
telescopic tube by means of four M5 screws. The bore distances of the
viewfinder shoe are 31.7mm on the longitudinal and transverse axis. The
six large adjustment screws with non-slip knurling make it easy to align
the viewfinder, even with clammy fingers. All adjusting and clamping
screws have plastic tips that effectively prevent the viewfinder housing
and viewfinder mount from being scratched.FEATURESExcellent 10x60 viewfinder and guiding telescopeCan also be used as mini travel telescopePerfect image sharpness and good viewing comfortFMC Multi-coated lens surfacesLens focal length: 250mmMax. possible camera weight: 550gRemovable eyepiece/cross hair unitCamera connection via 1.25 inch / 31.7mm plug connection or T2 threadT2 thread: M42 x 0,75mmPrecise helical focuser for focusing the visible imageFocuser travel range: 28mmClose focus distance: 3 mLaser engraved millimetre scale from 0 to 28mm on the focuserFocal plane (backfocus) is approx. 22mm behind the T2 threadSeparate focusing of the crosshair at the eyepieceVery large field of view FOV of 6.0 degreesWith adjustable red cross-hair iillumination Scale markings crosshair with 0,85 degree graduationPower supply of illumination unit: coin battery type LR41 (2pcs)Brass ring clamp and 3 clamping screws on the 1.25 inch plug connectionWith optional eyepieces magnifications from 9x to 50x can be achievedSuitable are almost all eyepieces with 1.25 inch/31,7mm shaftMounting of the viewfinder telescope is completely made of aluminiumViewfinder mount with 6 large adjustment screws with knurled head for easy gripFinder shoe suitable for EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC, BRESSER MESSIER etc.Additionally a suitable viewfinder shoe is includedBore distances of the viewfinder shoe are 31.7mm on the longitudinal and transverse axisAdjusting and clamping screws have plastic tipsWHAT'S INCLUDED10x60 viewfinder/guiding telescopeEyepiece unit with crosshairCrosshair illumination unit incl. batteriesViewfinder holder with viewfinder shoeInstruction manual

SXP2WL mount with fast R200SS reflector telescope (f4) in a complete set for professional astrophotographersWith this telescope set, you can start your exciting hobby immediately. It includes everything you need for astronomical observation: the powerful Newtonian telescope, an automatic mount with tracking and GoTo function, a tripod, and two eyepieces. The SXP2WL mount is equipped with the PFL-II polar finder for quick and easy alignment using reference stars as well as a Wifi module for wireless operation with a smartphone or tablet. This way, your telescope will automatically move to the objects you have selected. Over 259,000 celestial objects are already stored in the STAR BOOK APP. The R200SS Newtonian with its very short f4 focal ratio was optimized for photography and delivers sharp and high-contrast images. This bright and fast f-ratio allows you to capture breathtaking images of galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters in a short amount of time. This telescope is also perfect for comet hunting. It is also ideal for visual observation with its sharp images without chromatic aberration. You will be thrilled when you take a look at the Moon's surface with its many craters or observe Saturn with its rings.
The SXP2WL mount is easily operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or tablet. The free STAR BOOK Wireless app is available for user-friendly mount control. With this, you can easily use practical sky navigation functions like automatic GoTo slewing to specific celestial objects through your smartphone or tablet. Because the power consumption of the conventional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is eliminated, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20 %. This enables longer periods of astronomical observations and astrophotography. Selecting a celestial object from a list will automatically move it into the telescope's field of view, and tracking will begin. An existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used with this mount without problems. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the top model, the AXD mount, the SXP2WL brings a new standard of performance and precision to the Vixen mount family. The cross-axis of the SXP2 mount, with its 17 kg photographic payload, weighs only 13.3 kg, making it excellent for mobile observations. Additionally, the motors mounted on the lower part of the mount also act as counterweights, requiring fewer additional weights for balance. Larger bearings are installed in the SXP2 mount than in previous models to improve accuracy and load capacity. The mount housing is also made of stronger materials. To make the polar block even more stable, the cross-axis is firmly clamped into a fork.
The Vixen R200SS Reflector Telescope in Detail The highly light-gathering f/4 200 mm optics of the R200SS come with a parabolic primary mirror, delivering extremely sharp images without chromatic aberration. A special coating (state-of-the-art technology) provides the optimal surface for observing and photographing deep-sky objects. Vixen has developed a unique aluminum vacuum coating system that produces highly precise mirror surfaces. This revolutionary system allows greater precision through controlled coating of the primary mirror. This coating is also used in the Vixen VC200L. With its large aperture and short focal length, the R200SS telescope is ideal for astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters, and comets. When used with an optional coma corrector Art. X000150 (not included), it produces sharp images to the corners of a full-frame DSLR. The focuser features a 60 mm thread, allowing you to use 2-inch eyepieces with the appropriate adapter.
The SXP2 Mount in Detail
Stronger Mount HousingIn the SXP2 mount, larger bearings were installed than in previous models to improve accuracy and load capacity. Additionally, the mount housing is characterized by higher material thickness. To make the polar block even more stable, the cross-axis is firmly clamped into a fork.
Very Precise Tracking with P-PEC FunctionThe SXP2 mount is delivered with the modern STAR BOOK TEN controller. It offers you the P-PEC function for particularly precise tracking. The abbreviation "PEC" stands for "Periodic Error Correction". The system corrects mechanical errors caused by periodic gear system inaccuracies. The SXP2 equatorial mount is equipped with a P-PEC function, which evolved from the PEC function. The P-PEC function saves your correction records even after the mount is powered off. This way, you don’t need to re-enter the data every time, allowing for faster operation and more precise tracking.
Low-Noise Belt Drive System with Minimal PlayIn traditional motor-driven equatorial mounts, gears are used that are driven by the motor. However, this construction has the disadvantage of introducing some play between the gears. To avoid the resulting inaccuracies, the SXP2 mount features a belt drive system. This significantly reduces both gear play and motor noise. Furthermore, the device responds more quickly when corrections are required.
16 BearingsThe mechanical components of the SXP2 mount feature a total of 16 bearings. A set of tapered roller bearings is used for the RA axis to provide more stability for precise tracking.
Stable Altitude Block for AlignmentThe SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavier AXJ mount. This new construction enables quick and stable latitude adjustment.
Simple and Precise Polar Alignment Using Reference StarsThe 6x20 polar finder is pre-installed. This allows you to set polar alignment (for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres). The polar finder provides a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic shut-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 steps to suit your individual needs. Additionally, the polar finder features direct alignment using three reference stars and can achieve an accuracy of up to 3 arc minutes.
Variable Mount HeadThe mount head has a diameter of 35 mm and eight threaded holes for M8 screws, arranged at 45-degree intervals. An optional accessory plate can be attached directly or in combination with an optional mounting block for dovetail plates. Additionally, the threaded holes on the mount head allow for the use of rails from other manufacturers.
Combination of Innovative, Elegant Design and User-Friendly OperationThe stable, stiff mount body with very precise tracking has been further optimized with the P-PEC function. As a result, the SXP2 is a highly accurate and easy-to-use mount that will thrill every astrophotographer and observer.
Special Motor Mounting for Fewer CounterweightsThe heavy RA and DEC motor units are mounted in the lower part of the declination axis, positioning the center of gravity of the cross-axis beneath the RA and DEC axes. This way, the declination body acts as a counterweight. Additionally, the flat mount head allows the mount to be balanced with significantly fewer counterweights.
Retractable Counterweight BarThe counterweight bar is made of solid stainless steel and has a diameter of 20 mm. You can use it with all counterweights from the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight bar is housed within the declination body.
Accessory ShoeFor simple and quick polar alignment, the #35511 Polar Meter can be slid onto this shoe.
Latitude AdjustmentThe latitude can be adjusted between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium, and low latitudes).
The Vixen Wifi Adapter in Detail
The Vixen Wifi adapter for EQ mounts allows you to control your Vixen mount via a smartphone or tablet. Using the free Smartphone App STAR BOOK Wireless, you can navigate the sky without cables. The app transforms your mobile device into a control system for the equatorial mount in no time. The response delay of the mount, which is typically the biggest drawback of wireless connections, has been reduced to a level comparable to wired solutions. Reduced Power Consumption Compared to Conventional Controllers with LCD MonitorThe mount's power consumption is reduced by up to 20%, enabling longer observations compared to conventional wired controllers like the STAR BOOK TEN. Operation Similar to the STAR BOOK TEN ControllerThe STAR BOOK Wireless App is similar to the STAR BOOK TEN controller. It contains up to 259,000 celestial objects, depending on the star chart settings. Tap an object in the list, and the GoTo process starts. The mount will automatically move the object into the telescope's field of view. All the popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN remain available. Comfortable OperationWhile looking through the telescope, you operate the mount by swiping on the app's star chart. With no buttons, you simply glide your finger across the star chart to comfortably control the mount. Comprehensive Astronomical Data IncludedIn addition to well-observed celestial bodies such as Messier objects, NGC objects, IC objects, the sun, moon, planets, comets, and dwarf planets, a vast amount of astronomical data is included. Highly Accurate AlignmentAligning to one or two stars gives you a reasonably accurate mount position. Aligning to three or more stars allows for highly accurate alignment for high magnifications. Objects will be positioned precisely and centrally in the telescope’s field of view. The alignment information is saved and can be retained even when the device is powered off. By leaving the telescope in its current position after finishing an observation, you can restart automatic installation with the same settings during your next observation.
Customizable SettingsThe app, like the STAR BOOK TEN controller, offers various custom settings such as gear backlash compensation, night mode in red, autoguider support, and variable GoTo speed and LED brightness.
