SXP2WL SD115SII Complete Telescope Set with Wifi GoTo Mount, Tripod, and EyepiecesThis high-quality apochromatic refractor telescope-set impresses with its 115-mm-SD optics. The FPL53 glass used in the telescope reproduces an extremely clear and sharp image by nearly eliminating any residual color errors. The SD glass is designed to bring all rays – violet, red, blue, yellow, and green – to the same plane. This special lens material reduces chromatic aberration across all colors. The new Vixen SD115SII has no spacers, which significantly improves image quality, especially for bright stars. In photographic images, no spikes are visible on the stars, which were previously caused by spacers.In combination with the optional SD Reducer HD Kit or SD Flattener HD (not included), this refractor telescope provides an image circle of 44 mm for full-frame DSLR cameras. The older ED81SII, ED103S, and ED115S refractors were originally developed for visual observers and photographers using APS-C cameras. However, the new SD series, with the use of new internal baffles, has been optimized for full-frame cameras. The large 60-mm focuser also allows for the attachment of heavy cameras without tilting. Additionally, the included flip mirror enables comfortable observation even in awkward situations and offers a T2 thread for attaching a DSLR camera. You can observe straight through or at a 90° angle. The carrying handle attached to the tube rings ensures a secure grip when transporting the telescope. The sturdy metal tripod ensures vibration-free mounting of the telescope and mount even in windy conditions. The SXP2WL mount is easily operated via a WiFi module with a smartphone or tablet. The free STAR BOOK Wireless app provides user-friendly mount control. With this app, you can use convenient celestial navigation functions such as automatic GoTo slewing to specific celestial objects easily through your smartphone or tablet. Since the conventional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is no longer required, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%. This allows for longer periods of astronomical observation and astrophotography.Select the desired celestial object from a list, and it will be automatically slewed into the telescope’s field of view, and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used with this mount without any issues. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the top model, the AXD mount, the SXP2WL sets a new standard of performance and precision in the Vixen mount family.The cross-axis of the SXP2 mount has a photographic payload capacity of 17 kg and weighs only 13.3 kg, making it ideal for mobile observations. Additionally, the motors in the lower part of the mount also act as counterweights, reducing the need for additional weights. The SXP2 mount features larger ball bearings than previous models to enhance accuracy and load capacity. The mount housing is also characterized by greater material thickness. Very Precise Tracking with P-PEC FunctionThe SXP2 mount comes with the modern STAR BOOK TEN controller. It offers the P-PEC function for particularly precise tracking. "PEC" stands for "Periodic Error Correction". The system corrects mechanical errors caused by periodic gear errors. The P-PEC function available for the SXP2 equatorial mount is an enhancement of the PEC function. The P-PEC function stores your correction data even after the mount has been powered off. This means you do not need to re-enter the data every time, allowing for faster operation and more precise tracking. Low-Noise Belt Drive System with Minimal BacklashIn conventional motor drive systems for equatorial mounts, gears are driven by the motor. However, this design has the disadvantage of creating some backlash between the gears. To avoid the resulting inaccuracies, the SXP2 mount features a belt drive system. The polar finder features a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic shut-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 levels to suit your individual needs. Additionally, the polar finder is equipped with a direct alignment system using three reference stars and can achieve accuracy up to 3 arc minutes. Variable Mounting HeadThe mounting head has a diameter of 35 mm and eight threaded holes for M8 screws, arranged 45 degrees apart. An optional accessory plate can be attached directly or in combination with an optional mounting block for dovetail plates. The threaded holes in the mounting head also allow the use of rails from other manufacturers.
