For use immersion oil is required.

It is not recommended for the models Erudit Basic Mono/Bino, as these have a shorter parfocal length.

The working distance is reduced slightly. However, the depth of field is higher at the resulting magnification than when the magnification is increased by simply using another pair of eyepieces. A conversion lens is therefore the accessory of choice for magnifications greater than 50x.
