FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

The symbol flashes when the air pressure drops sharply within a short period of time. This indicates that a storm or strong winds are very likely approaching. As soon as the air pressure stabilizes, the flashing will stop automatically – it therefore serves as a storm warning.
Please proceed as follows:
  1. Remove all batteries from the base station and the outdoor sensor.
  2. Wait at least 3–10 minutes.
  3. Insert the batteries into the base station.
  4. Once the indoor temperature is displayed, insert the batteries into the outdoor sensor.
The signal should now be detected and the outdoor temperature displayed.

Tips:
  • If problems occur, replace all batteries with fresh, non-rechargeable brand batteries. Different battery types or charge levels may cause interference.
  • Do not place the base station near other electronic devices (this may interfere with reception).
  • If necessary, choose a different location for the base station.
If pressing the “DCF” button on the back does not help, reset the station:
  • Briefly press the reset button on the back with a pen
  • If necessary, place the station closer to a window, as reception inside buildings may be limited

Vixen 1.25”/ 31.7 mm Star Diagonal
This Vixen 90° mirrored Star Diagonal, with 1.25” / 31.7 mm nosepiece connection, makes observing objects higher up in the sky much more pleasant and also allows the user to revolve an eyepiece to a more comfortable observing position. This star diagonal is a good quality option and compatible with a large array of refractors and Cassegrain design instruments. It will accept 1.25” / 31.7mm eyepieces and accessories and also has a threaded nosepiece, into which can be fitted 1.25” filters, or Barlow elements, saving you the bother of having to keep swapping these when using different eyepieces. The inside of the diagonal is blackened to minimise internal reflections and light scatter and the body has a pleasingly well-engineered feel to it, without being too weighty. Eyepieces and other accessories are held in place by a simple-to-operate knurled set screw. As this is a mirrored diagonal, it also corrects the up/down orientation of image in astronomical refractors and Cassegrain telescopes, but please note that left and right will still be inverted within the field of view. Not suitable for use with Newtonian telescopes. EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 1.25" CLS Nebula Filter
Besides air turbulence, the brightening of the night sky is the biggest obstacle to observing faint objects beyond the solar system. Street lamps and other artificial lighting mean that the sky in human settlements is no longer really black. This affects the contrast and thus the perception of deep-sky objects. Depending on the type of celestial object, however, part of disturbing artificial light can be filtered out, making it easier to observe fainter targets. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC CITY LIGHT SUPRESSION - or CLS - filter uses the fact that the artificial lighting is not evenly distributed over the entire spectrum. These colours - in the case of the EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC CLS nebula filter, above all the typical colours of mercury and high-pressure lamps, used in street lighting - are suppressed, but the emissions of deep-sky objects are allowed through. With a slightly brightened sky, some relatively bright deep-sky objects are practically invisible with a telescope, for example the large galaxy M101. Using this filter makes observation much easier. A must have for any visual amateur astronomer.  The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC CLS can also be used as a useful photographic filter - helping to improve the quality of your telescopic deep sky photos. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC nebula filters are delivered with an individual test report - so you can be sure of receiving high-quality filters.SPECIFICATIONS:eliminates disturbing light - e.g. from street lightingenables observation of faint deep sky objectsWHAT'S INCLUDED:1x CLS filter
