  • Never look at the sun through an eyepiece/telescope without a certified protection filter. A moon filter can never be used for solar observation. The moon filter is only suitable for moon observation. The solar filter must be mounted in front of the telescope opening, not at the eyepiece. Otherwise, the concentrated light beam through the optics will immediately destroy the filter foil, leading to severe eye damage, including permanent blindness.
  • Never leave the optics unattended. Children and inexperienced adults could point the telescope at the sun without proper precautions and lose their eyesight.
  • Do not expose the device to high temperatures.

One of the most important obstacles for the exploration of the night sky is the brightening of the night sky by artificial lights, such as streetlights. The night sky is not really dark in the vicinity of towns or cities, which reduces the visibility of objects beyond the solar systems enormously. Depending on the type of the celestial object it is possible to increase the contrast dramatically by blocking the annoying artificial light. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III filter uses a characteristic property of the so called emission nebulae. Those objects glow in special colours, the so called emission lines. Those emission lines are linked to chemical elements - in this case oxygen. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III nebula filter blocks all other colours (and thereby nearly all of the artificial light) and only the two emission lines of the oxygen can pass the filter. The result is astonishing: suddenly nebulae are visible at locations that were completely empty without filters. In suburban skies for example the veil nebula NGC 6992 is almost not visible with a 200mm telescope. By using this filter you can see the nebula and its structures without problems. A must for every visual observer. This corrector is a class of it´s own - it is fully functional for visual use and expands the focal length by only 6%! The Explore Scientific Coma Correktor is delivered as a complete set together with a rotating helical focuser with laser-etched scale, so you get a full package: corrector, adaptor to T2 (M42x0.75mm), adaptor to M48 (M48x0.75) and the helical focuser for visual fun. This coma corrector really is "high resolution" - it deliveres a visual polystrehl performance of 0,98 at f/4 and 0,96 at f/3! So it can stay in the telescope - and you will not only enjoy a tack-sharp Jupiter, but aslo sharp and defined moons in the future! The BRESSER Messier 6 inch Planetary Dobson is something very special. Despite its low price, it offers a variety of functions and quality, which you sometimes look for in the considerably more expensive devices in vain. With an aperture diameter of 150 mm and a focal length of 1200 mm of this high quality BRESSER newtonian optics, the observation of the moon, the planets and planetary nebulae is particularly well possible.  Craters and grooves of the moon as well as the fast changing shadows cast by the so-called terminator line are exciting observation targets. Saturn with its impressive ring, Jupiter with its bands of clouds and the movement of its easily visible moons, the crescent shape of Venus and the glowing red Mars are good examples of what this telescope can be used for. Because of the long basic focal length you can easily achieve the high magnifications required for this purpose with this telescope. You do not need expensive special eyepieces. In short, this is a telescope primarily for detailed observation. Nevertheless bright deep sky objects like the Orion Nebula or the galaxies Messier 81 and 82 etc. can be observed as well. Also photography is no problem with this tube. Here is another strength of this telescope: if you want to take pictures, you can simply unscrew the altitude wheels from the tube and put them on a EQ mount with an optionally available dovetail rail - and nothing more stands in the way of astrophotography.
