Low power eyepieces are very important to observers for a variety of reasons: Their wide true field of view make object location and pointing far easier. Many deep sky objects are large and are best viewed at the lowest magnifications your telescope/eyepiece combination can achieve. When seeing conditions are poor, objects will often still look sharp at low powers.Comfort, Quality, Value.TheExplore Scientific 52° LER Seriesmid-range focal length eyepiecesareexcellent flat-field multi-element ocularsthat can transform your visual astronomy experience. With an apparent field of view of 52 degrees, these eyepieces offer incredible value in a very nice eyepiece.Expect exceptional quality and value versus a comparably priced Plossl. These eyepieces are the choice for observers wearing glasses- with excellent performance and durability. People wearing glasses very often have the problem to see the entire field of view when they are using eyepieces with large apparent fields. This problem is now history. The new62°- LER eyepieces by Explore Scientificdo not only offer excellent image sharpness and high resolution and contrast over the full field of view - you can see that full field without problemseven with glasses on. Fatigue due to tense head positioning and strained viewing simply does not happen because of theexcellent viewing comfortthese eyepieces provide even to observers wearing glasses. Enjoy the unique combination ofexcellent image sharpness out to the edge of the fieldevenfor fast optics, superior contrast and unmatched viewing comfort.Eyepieces with perfect combinations of various modern glass substrates and highest standards in manufacturing, quality control and service are a tradition at Explore Scientific - the outstanding resolution and sharpness to the very edge. These eyepieces are the choice for observers wearing glasses- with excellent performance and durability. Please note that refurbished items generally come with a 12-month warranty. With the introduction of the 68° Series we are pleased to make two important improvements in eyepiece manufacture, the first being 15 layer Enhanced Multi-layer Deposition (EMD™) coatings on all glass-to-air surfaces to gain maximum contrast, and waterproofing the eyepiece with the use of Argon gas purging instead of standard Nitrogen gas. Although Nitrogen is a fine choice that will last for many years, Argon is a larger molecule that maintains its protective properties over a wider range of temperatures, and is even more resistant to diffusion thereby further extending the protective waterproof environment of the eyepiece body. Through computer-optimized design, a careful selection of optical glasses, and enhanced multi-layer deposition coatings, the Explore Scientific 68° Series™eyepieces produce long eye-relief and ensure high image-correction, a flat field, and high contrast across the entire image field. An excellent choice for those who make extended visual studies of detail with subtle variations of brightness, and for those who must wear glasses while observing. All 68° Series eyepieces are fully EMD (Enhanced Multi-Layer Deposition) coated and edge-blackened to produce superior contrast.

The visual effect of these eyepieces with their long eye-relief and their 82° apparent field is truly a full-immersion experience. Your eye is relaxed, allowing you to easily use the "averted vision" technique to study faint details across a huge field-of-view. The 82° Series eyepieces come with a twist-up rubber eye-guard that raise to the desired height for the comfort of the observer, and as experienced astronomers know, eye comfort is critical when trying to observe at the visual limits of the telescope. To keep internal reflections to a minimum, all internal surfaces of the eyepiece barrel are flat black, as well as the edges of the lenses themselves to minimize the scattering of light within the lenses themselves. All 82° Series eyepieces are fully multi-coated and edge-blackened to produce maximum contrast.

If you love deep sky observing, eyepieces in this focal length range not only givehealthy increases in magnification, but the contrast enhancement of giving adarker background skycan make all the difference of how galaxies and nebulae appear under suburban skies.Comfort, Quality, Value.TheExplore Scientific 52° LER Seriesmid-range focal length eyepiecesareexcellent flat-field multi-element ocularsthat can transform your visual astronomy experience.
