A new take on a classic design, superior to the usual red dot finder - which will fit many telescopes and larger binoculars.Explore Scientific ReflexSight™ LED projection viewfinder, uses proven functionality with versatility, while having enhanced performance features.Looking through this viewfinder shows multiple deep red target circles projected against the night sky.  Both eyes can be used for quick and easy star hopping, in order to target objects in your telescope. The big advantage is that you can see the entire night sky without magnification and not just a small section of the sky, as you would through a magnified finderscope.  This makes Goto aligning quick and easy and speeds up acquisition of targets.New "Multi-Dot" target circle pattern (in standard circle diameters of 4.0 degrees, 2.0 degrees and 0.5 degrees), prevents blocking of stars within the field of view.  Using the widths of the projected circles as reference points allows those users with non-goto telescopes to easily work out the location of non-visible targets, with reference to more easily visible stars.  The projection screen size is a generous 55 x 35 mm.Multiple mounting options. The Explore Scientific ReflexSight™ LED projection viewfinder's base fits standard "Vixen-style dovetail" finder bases, allowing the user to attach this finder to a wife array of commercially-available telescopes, without modifying the telescope itself. A ¼ inch x 20G threaded adapter (photo tripod thread) is built into the finder base, allowing the finder to be attached to a variety of telescopes, via piggyback camera adapters with a photo tripod threaded hole.Functional design and intuitive use: the smooth housing, with no sharp corners, prevents snagging. Easily accessible battery compartment, taking 2x standard AAA alkaline batteries (not included), which power the frugal LED illuminator. Despite the low price, it offers a variety of functions and quality that are sometimes unavailable in considerably more expensive telescopes. With its 254 mm diameter optics, this telescope is not limited to solar system observation of the Moon and brighter planets - you can also observe far out into the universe and see globular clusters, nebulae and galaxies. Details become visible in most deep-sky objects: globular clusters are broken down into individual stars and nebulae, which are only hinted at in smaller scopes, show considerable structure. This Dobsonian is unsurpassed in versatility within its price range: the excellent, large Hexafoc focuser has an opening of 65 mm - so even with large wide-field eyepieces, there is no noticeable vignetting from the eyepiece extension tube. The large elevation wheels also hold the telescope level with just the right amount of "sticktion", even when heavier eyepieces are used. And when a lot of heavier accessories are attached, such as the Bresser Binoviewer attachment, then the entire telescope tube can be moved within the tube rings - and everything is balanced again in a flash. This is another strength of this universal telescope: if you want to take photos, you can simply unscrew the elevation wheels from the tube and place it on an equatorial mount with a standard dovetail rail - other rival Dobsonians do not offer this level of flexibility or pathway to more expansive astrophotography use. An optional dual speed 10:1 gear reduction for the focuser is available for those who need extra fine control of focus. With the introduction of the 68° Series we are pleased to make two important improvements in eyepiece manufacture, the first being 15 layer Enhanced Multi-layer Deposition (EMD™) coatings on all glass-to-air surfaces to gain maximum contrast, and waterproofing the eyepiece with the use of Argon gas purging instead of standard Nitrogen gas. Although Nitrogen is a fine choice that will last for many years, Argon is a larger molecule that maintains its protective properties over a wider range of temperatures, and is even more resistant to diffusion thereby further extending the protective waterproof environment of the eyepiece body. Through computer-optimized design, a careful selection of optical glasses, and enhanced multi-layer deposition coatings, the Explore Scientific 68° Series™ eyepieces produce long eye-relief and ensure high image-correction, a flat field, and high contrast across the entire image field. An excellent choice for those who make extended visual studies of detail with subtle variations of brightness, and for those who must wear glasses while observing. All 68° Series eyepieces are fully EMD (Enhanced Multi-Layer Deposition) coated and edge-blackened to produce superior contrast.

Explore Scientific 82° Series™ extreme wide field eyepieces are optimized to produce high contrast, high resolution, and superior flat field characteristics. The visual effect of these eyepieces with their long eye-relief and their 82° apparent field is truly a full-immersion experience. Your eye is relaxed, allowing you to easily use the "averted vision" technique to study faint details across a huge field-of-view. The 82° Series eyepieces come with a twist-up rubber eye-guard that raise to the desired height for the comfort of the observer, and as experienced astronomers know, eye comfort is critical when trying to observe at the visual limits of the telescope. To keep internal reflections to a minimum, all internal surfaces of the eyepiece barrel are flat black, as well as the edges of the lenses themselves to minimize the scattering of light within the lenses themselves. All 82° Series eyepieces are fully multi-coated and edge-blackened to produce maximum contrast.
