FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

That is normal. Finder scopes are only used to make objects easy to locate. The image orientation does not matter for observation.

  • Alt-azimuth: easy to use, moves horizontally and vertically
  • Equatorial: enables precise tracking of objects with only one axis – ideal for high magnifications and astrophotography

  • Moon: from 30 mm
  • Planets: from 100 mm
  • Deep sky: from 150 mm

Warning notes
  • General safety instructions DANGER Risk of eye injuries! Never look directly at the sun or near the sun through this device. There is a risk of blindness! Children should only use the device under supervision. Keep packaging materials (plastic bags, rubber bands, etc.) away from children! There is a risk of suffocation! FIRE HAZARD! Do not expose the device especially the lenses to direct sunlight! The light concentration could cause fires. RISK of material damage! Do not dismantle the device! In case of a defect, please contact your dealer. They will contact the service center and may send the device in for repair. Do not expose the device to temperatures above 60°C!
  • Never look at the sun through an eyepiece/telescope without a certified protection filter. A moon filter can never be used for solar observation. The moon filter is only suitable for moon observation. The solar filter must be mounted in front of the telescope opening, not at the eyepiece. Otherwise, the concentrated light beam through the optics will immediately destroy the filter foil, leading to severe eye damage, including permanent blindness.
  • Never leave the optics unattended. Children and inexperienced adults could point the telescope at the sun without proper precautions and lose their eyesight.
  • Do not expose the device to high temperatures.

EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 2" Variable Polarizing Filter
Universally usable variable polarizing filter with a  2" filter thread. This variable polarizing filter allows for a continuous adjustment of the image brightness. This is very helpful to level strong differences in contrast of different observation objects individually. Particularly for lunar and planetary observations but also for solar observations this filter prevents an outshining of details.Solar observations ONLY together with an adequate solar filter !!! Particularly when a Herschel wedge is used and with large objective lens apertures the use of the variable polarizing filter can reduce the brightness of the observation object to a confortable level. The large adjustment range of 40% to 1% light transmission and the neutral grey filter effect create a comfortable and unadulterated image. The handling is very simple. The desired filtering level is set by turning the two sides of the housing against each other.A 2.0" filter thread on both sides (female/male) allow for the simultaneous use of additional colour filters.FEATURESvariable polarizing filterindividually adjustable image brightnessmade from high-quality optical glassblack anodized aluminium housing2.0" filter thread on both sidesSCOPE OF DELIVERYpolarizing filterprotective box

EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC Teleextender 2x 50,8mm/2"
With teleextenders it is possible to extend the effective focal length of a telescope system, resulting in higher magnification for the observation of the moon, the planets or small Deep-Sky objects with the same eyepieces. So you can use the advantages of eyepieces with longer focal length - such as the bigger eye distance and the more relaxed observing comfort - at high magnifications also. These teleextenders incorporate a telecentric optical design that deliveres a excellent image sharpness over the whole field of view and are premium choices for visual observations and astrophotography. The combination of excellent fully multicoating with superior optical design makes the Focal Extenders superior to classic Barlow lenses.FEATURES: Suitable for visual observations and astrophotographyDoubling the effective total focal length of the telescopeFour lens telecentric design Fully multicoatedFilter thread for color or nebula filtersSCOPE OF DELIVERY: Fokal Extender 2 x Adapter 2" (50,8mm) auf 1,25" (31,7mm)

BRESSER Nebula EXOS-2 EQ Goto Mount
Discover the possibilities and forge new paths with the Nebula EXOS-2 Goto Mount!Mount and TripodThe BRESSER EXOS-2 is a stable mount with a high load capacity and precise tracking for visual observations and astrophotography. Double radial groove ball bearings in both axes ensure precise, smooth motion, and the RA axis bearing has been optimized to reduce backlash. Additionally, the tripod is reinforced to further suppress vibrations. The BRESSER EXOS-2 can be loaded with up to 13 kg of optics for purely visual use depending on the length and purpose!Nebula: the powerful and flexible Goto systemWith the new Nebula Goto system, set off for new astronomical shores. This system offers several control options. You can operate the mount directly via its own Nebula control interface using your smartphone or tablet (iOS and Android supported). Alternatively, you can also use a planetarium software such as SkySafari. Manual control remains an option as well. For this, a hand box for minor corrections or simple control commands is included.Furthermore, with the BRESSER Nebula Goto Kit, you can connect your laptop or PC directly via WIFI or LAN cable (recommended for faster data transfer) to the Nebula control unit. This not only gives you full control over the mount but also allows you to connect various devices such as cameras, motor focus, filter wheels, etc. directly to the control unit via various USB ports. This eliminates the need to connect each device to your computer via cables. The pre-installed program KStars / EKOS lets you comfortably control all devices from your PC or laptop. Electronic polar alignment or guiding can also be easily achieved with the Goto Kit, provided you have a camera connected. You are also not limited to the software of the Nebula control unit. Thanks to the installed ASCOM Alpaca driver, you can use your own programs on your computer to control the mount - whether it's Stellarium or N.I.N.A. The two stepper motors with a belt drive ensure a smooth, direct drive of the two axes. It's only important to have a good balance. FEATURES EXOS-2 MOUNT Stable parallactic mount with fine drive in both axes Ball bearings in both axes for more precise movements Sturdy height-adjustable stainless steel tripod (Min. 69 cm / Max. 109.5 cm) Load capacity of up to 13 kg Spirit level for easy horizontal alignment Polar height scale for setting the latitude Polar scope with optional lighting (item no. 4964212) Tripod weight: 4.7 kg Mount weight: 5.6 kg (without counterweight) Total weight including counterweight: 14.8 kg Batteries: not included FEATURES GOTO SYSTEM Belt drive for a more precise, quieter tracking Stepper motors with high resolution (0.36´/microstep) Hand control box for direct control of the mount Virtual hand control box for smartphones and tablets PC control – ASCOM compatible USB ports for cameras, motors, filter wheels etc. SCOPE OF DELIVERY BRESSER EXOS-2 Mount Polar finder scope with optional illumination Stainless steel field tripod with accessory tray 1x 4.5-kg counterweight 2 stepper motors for the axes (RA and DEC) Raspberry Pi control unitBasic handbox 230V / 12V / 3 A power adapterConnection cableManual for download
