FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

That is normal. Finder scopes are only used to make objects easy to locate. The image orientation does not matter for observation.

  • Alt-azimuth: easy to use, moves horizontally and vertically
  • Equatorial: enables precise tracking of objects with only one axis – ideal for high magnifications and astrophotography

  • Moon: from 30 mm
  • Planets: from 100 mm
  • Deep sky: from 150 mm

Warning notes
  • General safety instructions DANGER Risk of eye injuries! Never look directly at the sun or near the sun through this device. There is a risk of blindness! Children should only use the device under supervision. Keep packaging materials (plastic bags, rubber bands, etc.) away from children! There is a risk of suffocation! FIRE HAZARD! Do not expose the device – especially the lenses – to direct sunlight! The light concentration could cause fires. RISK of material damage! Do not dismantle the device! In case of a defect, please contact your dealer. They will contact the service center and may send the device in for repair. Do not expose the device to temperatures above 60°C!
  • Never look at the sun through an eyepiece/telescope without a certified protection filter. A moon filter can never be used for solar observation. The moon filter is only suitable for moon observation. The solar filter must be mounted in front of the telescope opening, not at the eyepiece. Otherwise, the concentrated light beam through the optics will immediately destroy the filter foil, leading to severe eye damage, including permanent blindness.
  • Never leave the optics unattended. Children and inexperienced adults could point the telescope at the sun without proper precautions and lose their eyesight.
  • Do not expose the device to high temperatures.

BRESSER Barlow Lens 2x 31.8mm/1.25"
With the usage of barlow lenses, you can extend the equivalent focal length of telescopes and hence increase the magnification of your observed targets. Subsequently, you can use lower power eyepieces in Barlows to act as much more powerful eyepieces, but retain the larger ocular size and more comfortable viewing that comes with lower power eyepiece designs.Due to their two lens design, these Barlow lenses provide a brilliant image quality for the whole visual field and are suitable for observations and photography.  The black coloured Barlow element cell in this BRESSER Barlow Lens 2x 31.8mm/1.25," can be unscrewed and has the same thread as 1.25" filters, allowing it to be mounted in 1.25" eyepieces, t-adapters and other accessories, giving you flexibility of use and the ability to vary magnification in different accessories.  For instance, the black Barlow cell screwed into the average length nosepiece of a standard push fit t-adapter will give around 1.6x magnification on an attached DSLR.  This can be very useful when trying to get to photographic focus with some Newtonians and Solar Telescopes, which lack the necessary amount of in focus travel to get a camera to a prime focus position.FEATURESsuitable for observations and photographydoubling of the focal lengthtwo lens designfully multi-coatedWHAT'S INCLUDEDBarlow lens (1pc)

Planetary UV + IR Cut Filter for BRESSER CMOS Cameras
The BRESSER UV + IR Cut Filter makes lunar and planetary images even sharper.Digital astro cameras have a wide sensitivity range that significantly exceeds the spectrum of visible light. Thus, the wavelengths of invisible light in the ultraviolet and infrared are also captured. This leads inevitably to a small additional and of course unwanted blur. The solution is this UV + IR Cut Filter, which allows only light in the visible range 400 nm to 680 nm to pass through and blocks all other wavelengths of light. As soon as these disturbing light waves are cut off, the sharpness of the image and the contrast are increased. Suddenly, details on the surface of Jupiter, for example, can be seen that were previously only barely visible. A clear plus, which can be achieved by this filter.Suitable for BRESSER CMOS cameras and other manufacturers with female camera thread M30 x 0.75 mmAfter removing the original screw adapter with sensor protection glass, the BRESSER UV + IR Cut filter is mounted to the camera instead. This filter has a fine M30 x 0.75 mm external thread for mounting on the camera. The exchange is therefore quick and easy. On the opposite side, i.e. on the telescope side, there is a standard C-mount female thread for mounting other accessories. Note: This filter does not have a standard 1.25 inch (31.7 mm) filter thread. EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 82° Ar Eyepiece 8.8mm (1.25")
Explore Scientific 82° Series™ extreme wide field eyepieces are optimized to produce high contrast, high resolution, and superior flat field characteristics. The visual effect of these eyepieces with their long eye-relief and their 82° apparent field is truly a full-immersion experience. Your eye is relaxed, allowing you to easily use the "averted vision" technique to study faint details across a huge field-of-view. The 82° Series eyepieces come with a twist-up rubber eye-guard that raise to the desired height for the comfort of the observer, and as experienced astronomers know, eye comfort is critical when trying to observe at the visual limits of the telescope. To keep internal reflections to a minimum, all internal surfaces of the eyepiece barrel are flat black, as well as the edges of the lenses themselves to minimize the scattering of light within the lenses themselves. All 82° Series eyepieces are fully multi-coated and edge-blackened to produce maximum contrast.

EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 1.25" H-Beta Nebula Filter
One of the most important obstacles for the exploration of the night sky is the brightening of the night sky by artificial lights, such as streetlights. The night sky is not really dark in the vicinity of towns or cities, which reduces the visibility of objects bejond the solar systems enourmously. Depending on the type of the celestial object it is possible to increase the contrast dramatically by blocking the annoying artifical light. The Explore Scientific H-beta filter uses a characteristic property of the so called emmission nebulae. Those objekcts glow in special colors, the so called emmission lines. Those emmission lines are linked to chemical elements - in this case hydrogen. The Explore Scientific H-beta nebula filter blocks all other colors (and thereby nearly all of the artificial light) and only the emmission line of the hydrogen can pass the filter. The result is astonoishing: suddenly nebulae are visible at locations that were completely empty without filters. In suburbian skies for example the horsehead nebula is almost not visible with a 300mm telescope. By using this filter you can see the nebula and its structures without problems. A must for every visual observer. The Explore Scientific nebula filters come with a individual test certificate - your guarantee to receive a premium filter.
