FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
The symbol flashes when the air pressure drops sharply within a short period of time. This indicates that a storm or strong winds are very likely approaching. As soon as the air pressure stabilizes, the flashing will stop automatically – it therefore serves as a storm warning.
Please proceed as follows:
Tips:
- Remove all batteries from the base station and the outdoor sensor.
- Wait at least 3–10 minutes.
- Insert the batteries into the base station.
- Once the indoor temperature is displayed, insert the batteries into the outdoor sensor.
The signal should now be detected and the outdoor temperature displayed.
Tips:
- If problems occur, replace all batteries with fresh, non-rechargeable brand batteries. Different battery types or charge levels may cause interference.
- Do not place the base station near other electronic devices (this may interfere with reception).
- If necessary, choose a different location for the base station.
If pressing the “DCF” button on the back does not help, reset the station:
- Briefly press the reset button on the back with a pen
- If necessary, place the station closer to a window, as reception inside buildings may be limited

To get the most out of the lightning detector, you can connect it to your BRESSER weather centre: from there, you can view the time since the last lightning strike, including the estimated distance, as well as the number of lightning strikes per hour. The additional BRESSER base station allows you to respond to unusual situations like these with utmost flexibility, as two stations mean two separate measured results for indoor temperature, humidity and air pressure. A graphical room climate indicator will alert you when the air is optimal, too dry or too damp. The BRESSER lightning detector keeps you informed during stormy weather. It displays a light signal when it detects a lightning strike within a range of approximately 40 kilometres. To get the most out of the lightning detector, you can connect it to your BRESSER weather centre: from there, you can view the time since the last lightning strike, including the estimated distance, as well as the number of lightning strikes per hour. And to ensure that the lightning sensor is configured to your surroundings, you can choose from 3 different sensor sensitivity levels.
