For this application we recommend the BRESSER Erudit DLX 40-1000x microscope in combination with a USB camera, e.g. the BRESSER MikroCam 1.3 MP. This solution offers better image quality and flexibility than a simple LCD microscope.
If you want to identify bacteria, it is usually more useful to create a culture. Microscopes are generally only sufficient to determine whether the bacteria are, for example, spherical or rod-shaped.
The Barlow lens is already installed in the eyepiece tube on many devices. It can be pulled out at the upper ridge to use the zoom function.
Possible causes:
Sample too thick / unsuitable: Use thin samples or fixed smears.
No cover glass or incorrect thickness: Objectives are optimized for cover glasses.
Condenser incorrectly adjusted: Do not open the diaphragm too far – otherwise contrast will be low.
Magnification too high: Rule of thumb: maximum 1000 × objective aperture. Example: With a 40x objective with aperture 0.65, the limit is about 650x.

The BRESSER 0.5x reducing lens is designed to enlarge the image from a microscope camera. It increases the light intensity and therefore reduces the exposure time.
In the case of trinocular microscopes, the adapter usually enables the focus to be matched to the focus of the eyepiece. It is compatible with focusers with a 23.2 mm receptacle.
This adapter is specially designed for cameras with sensor sizes of 1/2'' or 1/3''. The connection is made via a 1'' C-mount thread.
