The Telescope
The BRESSER Messier Newton Telescopes have established themselves as reliable workhorses for astrophotography in recent years. With the Messier NT203s/800 with Hexafoc, we present the latest generation of these devices. The photo-Newton with a parabolic primary mirror and a fast focal ratio of 203 mm (8") f/3.9 enables deeper exposures in the same amount of time. The large 85 mm secondary mirror guarantees optimal field illumination, and the high-quality 2.5" Hexafoc focuser ensures vignetting-free photography. The tube rings with a 44-mm universal dovetail bar and handle with camera mounting option, along with an excellent bright crosshair finder, round out this high-quality device.
The focuser can also be upgraded with a 10:1 reduction gear (Art. No.: 0625720). For pinpoint star imaging, the optional HR Coma Corrector (Art. No. 0510330) can be used. This is designed for both visual and photographic use, significantly improving image quality, especially in the outer areas of the field.
The Mount
The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo Mount is equipped with a modern and highly precise GoTo control system. It consists of a robust Wi-Fi controller unit that provides all necessary interfaces. The NEMA-11 stepper motors are directly connected to this unit via cable, and a ST-4 compatible autoguider port is also available. The control system also supports micro-step operation to ensure precise tracking.
Intuitive operation via app and graphical star map
The ExploreStars app, specifically developed for the PMC-Eight system, impresses with its well-designed, intuitive graphical interface. The current alignment stars for control initialization, as well as all celestial objects in the database, are displayed as a star map with additional text information. All these objects can be conveniently viewed and selected.
Powerful controller unit with Open GoTo for customization
At the heart of the controller unit is a fully autonomous 2-channel multi-processor with 8 CPUs and a Wi-Fi Ethernet 10/100 adapter with IP functionality. This allows remote operation via browser, ASCOM, app, or serial connection. With Open GoTo, custom firmware can also be written and loaded into the controller unit, allowing customization of device functions and the creation of custom object lists, etc.
Polar finder included
The included and pre-installed polar finder scope enables quick and precise polar alignment for long exposure times without unwanted star trails. The integrated LED lighting unit further enhances the user experience of the polar finder.
