The Telescope
The compact optics define the Messier MC-150. Its short length makes it ideal for mobile use. With the long 1,900 mm focal length, you can look forward to exciting planetary observations at high magnifications. The 150 mm aperture allows you to observe smaller nebulae in the vastness of space. Find the remnants of a massive star explosion from 1054 in the constellation Taurus, or trace the glowing filaments of the Great Orion Nebula. Spot the famous Whirlpool Galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major, or find the Dumbbell Nebula in the constellation Vulpecula. Additionally, the high-quality objective solar filter enables safe observations of sunspots, eclipses, and planetary transits. (Caution: Never point the telescope at the sun without the solar filter!)
The Mount
The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo mount is equipped with a modern and very precise GoTo control. It features a robust Wi-Fi controller unit that provides all necessary interfaces. The NEMA-11 stepper motors are connected directly to this unit via cable, and an ST-4 compatible autoguider port is also available. The control also supports microstepping for precise tracking.
Intuitive operation via app and graphical star chart
The dedicated ExploreStars app for the PMC-Eight system impresses with a visually appealing, intuitive user interface. The stars available for alignment during control initialization and all celestial objects in the database are displayed as a star chart with additional text information. All these objects can be conveniently viewed and selected.
Powerful controller unit with Open GoTo for customisation
The heart of the controller unit consists of a completely autonomous 2-channel multi-processor with 8 CPUs and a Wi-Fi Ethernet 10/100 adapter with IP functionality. This allows remote operation via browser, ASCOM, app, or serial connection. Open GoTo also allows custom firmware to be written and loaded onto the controller unit, enabling individual customisation of device functions and the creation of custom object lists.
Polar finder included
The pre-installed polar finder scope allows quick and precise polar alignment and long exposure times without unwanted star trails. The integrated LED illumination unit further enhances the usability of the polar finder.
