Warning notes
  • Check the solar filter before every solar observation and ensure that it is not damaged. Hold it against a strong light source to detect any possible cracks and/or holes. Do not use the telescope for solar observation, even if the solar filter is only slightly damaged. In this case, contact the manufacturer for the appropriate replacement parts.
  • Always use the included solar filter when observing the sun. Make sure it is correctly attached to the telescope according to the instructions. The use of the solar filter is only intended in connection with this telescope.
  • Never look at the sun through an eyepiece/telescope without a certified protection filter. A moon filter can never be used for solar observation. The moon filter is only suitable for moon observation. The solar filter must be mounted in front of the telescope opening, not at the eyepiece. Otherwise, the concentrated light beam through the optics will immediately destroy the filter foil, leading to severe eye damage, including permanent blindness.
  • Check the secure fit of the solar filter before each solar observation. An accidental detachment from the objective opening can lead to immediate and permanent eye damage and blindness.
  • If the solar filter cannot be securely attached to the tube, improve the fit by placing several self-adhesive felt strips or similar between the solar filter and the objective opening. Never use the solar filter if it cannot be properly mounted on the telescope. In such a case, always contact our customer service first.
  • Be extremely cautious when observing the sun. A brief look through the unprotected optics will immediately cause severe eye damage, potentially leading to complete blindness.
  • Children should not look at the sun through the telescope, even with the filter properly installed. Never leave children unsupervised.
  • Never leave the optics unattended. Children and inexperienced adults could point the telescope at the sun without proper precautions and lose their eyesight.
  • Do not observe the sun after eye surgeries or other eye conditions without prior medical consultation.
  • Wrinkles/creases in the film are normal and do not indicate a product defect.
  • Do not expose the device to high temperatures.
  • BATTERY WARNING AND SAFETY Safe handling and use of batteries and accumulators Read and follow these instructions before using the battery or accumulator. To the extent permitted by law, failure to comply with these warnings and instructions may result in any damage caused to your product not being covered by the warranty. In this document, the term "batteries" also includes accumulators. Follow these instructions to ensure optimal safety and performance: DO NOT use counterfeit batteries in products. Only use supplied batteries. Use the battery SOLELY for its intended purpose. Keep batteries out of the reach of children and pets. The battery should NOT be inserted incorrectly when charging. MAKE SURE the battery compartment is empty, dry, and free of dirt before inserting the battery. The battery should NOT be charged in direct sunlight or at extreme temperatures. The battery must be charged at room temperature, typically between 20 °C and 26 °C (68 °F-79 °F). Charging may be temporarily suspended if the battery temperature exceeds 60 °C (140 °F). If the battery is hot but the temperature is under 60 °C (140 °F), the battery will still charge, but more slowly than usual. Avoid dropping the battery or the product with the battery inside. If dropped onto a hard surface, the battery or product may be damaged. If you suspect the battery might be damaged, replace it. Never leave your mobile hotspot plugged into the power supply for more than 24 hours to charge. Let the battery drain and then recharge it. One of the most important obstacles for the exploration of the night sky is the brightening of the night sky by artificial lights, such as streetlights. The night sky is not really dark in the vicinity of towns or cities, which reduces the visibility of objects beyond the solar systems enourmously. Depending on the type of the celestial object it is possible to increase the contrast dramatically by blocking the annoying artifical light. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III filter uses a characteristic property of the so called emmission nebulae. Those objekcts glow in special colors, the so called emmission lines. Those emmission lines are linked to chemical elements - in this case oxygen. Besides air turbulence, the brightening of the night sky is the biggest obstacle to observing faint objects beyond the solar system. Street lamps and other artificial lighting mean that the sky in human settlements is no longer really black. This affects the contrast and thus the perception of deep-sky objects. Depending on the type of celestial object, however, part of disturbing artificial light can be filtered out, making it easier to observe fainter targets.The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC CITY LIGHT SUPRESSION - or CLS - filter uses the fact that the artificial lighting is not evenly distributed over the entire spectrum. The BRESSER Telescope Camera Adapter is the connecting piece between your 35 mm DSLR camera and the telescope. The connection to your camera can be achieved with the fitting T2-mount (T2-mount optional). For the focal fotography, you need to unscrew the bottom part of the adapter and attach the camera with the fitting T2-mount directly to the push-on contact. The eyepiece projection is possible when you put an eyepiece into the adapter and tighten the knurled screw. Camera-Adapter M35/T2 for Bresser MC/MCX-100 and MC/MCX-127 Maksutov telescopes The BRESSER Camera-Adapter M35/T2 for MC/MCX100/127 is principally designed to connect a DSLR camera (with appropriate manufacturer-specific T2 T-ring, available separately) to the Bresser MC-100 and MC-127 Maksutov telescopes which have a built-in M35 connecting thread. You can also use wider-bodied astronomical cameras (non-c-mount), which have T2 threads built into their bodies, as standard with this camera adapter. This adapter can be separated into two different lengths of 30mm and 80mm (which both truncate in a T2/M42 thread). The use of these different lengths of extension tube allows the user to vary the projection of image on to a camera chip and get the best framing for the size of object being imaged. The design principle: The optics combine mirrors and lenses with very good imaging properties. With the 100 mm aperture, the BRESSER Messier MC-100/1400 already collects a lot of light and offers a good resolution. Due to the extremely large focal ratio of 1 to 14 (F/14), which results from the 100 mm aperture and the 1400 mm focal length, you enjoy a very sharp image with excellent contrast. This means that the telescope is an absolute specialist when it comes to exploring the Moon, Sun and planets. But you can also look forward to observing many deep-sky objects through your telescope for beginners. Admire open star clusters, globular clusters and so-called planetary nebulae such as the impressive Dumbbell Nebula M27. Really sharp images with up to 200x magnification – no problem thanks to the resolution of the 100 mm aperture! From a purely technical point of view, even more is possible in terms of magnification. However, increasing magnification often results in a loss of image sharpness. Moreover, the telescope is not the only factor when it comes to the question of how high you can magnify. The air turbulence in the atmosphere (seeing conditions) also plays an important role. Good foundation for your space exploration – mount and tripod While you enjoy the view of the sky, your Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope is perfectly mounted on the height-adjustable aluminium tripod with equatorial EQ-3 mount. The equatorial design has a decisive advantage: Unlike azimuthal models, you have to compensate for the movement of the celestial bodies on just one axis. To do this, you align this particular axis of the equatorial mount parallel to the Earth's axis by pointing it approximately at the polar star – also known as "alignment". Thanks to the two flexible shafts with fine adjustment, tracking and adjusting the telescope is extremely comfortable and precise. The storage plate between the tripod legs keeps your astronomy accessories ready for any exciting discovery.Keep track of things automatically: For this telescope’s equatorial EQ-3 mount, the tracking motor with item number 4951400 is available as an optional accessory. This eliminates the need to manually track a celestial object set in the telescope.
