The Telescope
A high-quality telescope for night and solar observation: The combination of the large 152 mm aperture and the short 760 mm focal length makes the BRESSER Messier AR-152S ideal for observing large celestial objects. Experience the sight of the famous globular cluster M13 in the constellation Hercules: Thousands of needle-sharp stars embedded like a glittering cloth of black velvet before your eyes. With additional nebula filters (not included), you can also admire the famous "Gulf of Mexico" in the North America Nebula, as well as all the celestial objects listed by Charles Messier in his famous catalogue from 1781. The compact design of the telescope offers excellent portability, easy operation, great light-gathering ability, and very low weight for its size. Thanks to the special four-lens achromatic design, even with the very fast aperture ratio of f/5 for a refractor, you achieve minimal colour aberration and better photographic correction compared to similar two-lens devices. With the high-quality objective solar filter, you can safely observe sunspots, eclipses, and planetary transits. (Warning: Never aim the telescope at the Sun without the solar filter!)
The Mount
The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo mount is equipped with a modern and highly precise GoTo control system. It consists of a robust Wi-Fi controller unit that provides all necessary interfaces. The NEMA-11 stepper motors are directly connected to this unit via cable, and a ST-4 compatible autoguider interface is also available. Additionally, the control system supports microstep operation for precise tracking.
Intuitive operation via app and graphical star chart
The ExploreStars app, specially developed for the PMC-Eight system, impresses with a graphically successful, intuitive user interface. The available alignment stars for system initialisation, as well as all celestial objects in the database, are displayed as a star chart with additional text information. All these objects can be easily viewed and selected.
Powerful controller unit with Open GoTo for customisation The heart of the controller unit is a fully autonomous 2-channel multi-processor with 8 CPUs and a Wi-Fi Ethernet 10/100 adapter with IP functionality. This allows for remote operation via browser, ASCOM, app, or serial connection. With Open GoTo, you can also write your own firmware and load it into the controller unit. This allows for individual adjustments to the device's functions and the creation of your own object lists.
Polar finder included
The included and pre-installed polar finder scope allows for quick and precise polar alignment and long exposure times without unwanted star trails. The integrated LED lighting unit further enhances the ease of use of the polar finder.
