The equatorial design has a decisive advantage: Unlike azimuthal models, you have to compensate for the movement of the celestial bodies on just one axis. To do this, you align this particular axis of the equatorial mount parallel to the Earth's axis by pointing it approximately at the polar star – also known as "alignment". Thanks to the two flexible shafts with fine adjustment, tracking and adjusting the telescope is extremely comfortable and precise.
