FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
The symbol flashes when the air pressure drops sharply within a short period of time. This indicates that a storm or strong winds are very likely approaching. As soon as the air pressure stabilizes, the flashing will stop automatically – it therefore serves as a storm warning.
Please proceed as follows:
Tips:
- Remove all batteries from the base station and the outdoor sensor.
- Wait at least 3–10 minutes.
- Insert the batteries into the base station.
- Once the indoor temperature is displayed, insert the batteries into the outdoor sensor.
The signal should now be detected and the outdoor temperature displayed.
Tips:
- If problems occur, replace all batteries with fresh, non-rechargeable brand batteries. Different battery types or charge levels may cause interference.
- Do not place the base station near other electronic devices (this may interfere with reception).
- If necessary, choose a different location for the base station.
If pressing the “DCF” button on the back does not help, reset the station:
- Briefly press the reset button on the back with a pen
- If necessary, place the station closer to a window, as reception inside buildings may be limited

Additional base station – monitor the indoor climate in another room

The base station features a built-in thermo-hygro sensor, which measures the ambient temperature and humidity and displays a smiley symbol to indicate the quality of the indoor climate. But wouldn’t it also be great in the bedroom, so that as soon as you’ve switched off the alarm you’ll know whether blue sky and sunshine await? With this additional BRESSER base station, you don’t need to decide on just one room. Simply connect to your 7-in-1 external sensor and you have immediate access to your measured values in another room. You can count on the usual functions whenever you need them, including reliable local weather trend forecasts for the next 12 hours, displayed as graphics, so know when to organize a spontaneous BBQ. In the winter months, the frost alarm will alert you when the external temperature falls below -3 °C: Caution, risk of black ice! You can also see the date, day of the week, time and moon phases so you have an idea of the ‘signs of the times’. Plus, for a more long-term view, the memory function stores historical measured data from the past 24 hours.

The additional BRESSER base station allows you to respond to unusual situations like these with utmost flexibility, as two stations mean two separate measured results for indoor temperature, humidity and air pressure. Position the device in a critical location and the integrated sensor will measure the current room temperature, humidity and air pressure at that location. A graphical room climate indicator will alert you when the air is optimal, too dry or too damp. In addition, you can also set an independent maximum/minimum value alarm with audible and light signal on the additional station itself.

The readings from your 7-in-1 outdoor sensor including outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, UV level and light intensity are transmitted wirelessly, giving your everything that you need to decide what to wear for the day.
Built-in alarm
The additional base station will help to give you a relaxing start to the day. It features a built-in alarm and a snooze button that silences the alarm to give you an extra few minutes in bed. The clock is synchronized automatically via the Internet to ensure that you won't be late to work. The modern LCD colour display can be viewed from any angle and shows you all relevant weather data including a weather forecast to help you decide what to wear for the day. The additional base station also displays a range of other useful data, including the perceived temperature, sunburn time, Beaufort level and historical data. Smart function for icy weather: Thanks to the built-in frost alarm, the alarm goes off 30 minutes earlier when the outdoor temperature drops below -3 °C.
Create the perfect indoor climate with the additional base station
In addition to the outdoor conditions such as rain, wind and sunshine, the indoor climate can have a big impact on our health and wellbeing. The base station features a built-in sensor that measures the room humidity and temperature and stores the maximum and minimum values. This helps you to take action to prevent excessively dry air in winter and stop mould from forming in rooms with a high humidity, such as the kitchen. An optimal indoor climate is indicated by a smiley face on the graphical comfort indicator. If the display shows a frowning smiley, this indicates that you need to take action to improve the indoor climate.

The BRESSER 8-day 4CAST XL 7-in-1 Wi-Fi Weather Station with a solar-powered sensor features a modern design with a huge 48.3 cm (19”) wide-angle colour screen for displaying your meteorological data. Ideal for offices, schools and plant nurseries – the base station is perfect for providing an overview of the weather in large rooms. In addition to displaying the data from your outdoor sensor, the Wi-Fi weather station can also connect to the Internet to display forecast data from the ProWeatherLive platform, including an 8-day weather forecast with maximum/minimum temperatures and the chance of rain, as well as the local visibility and cloud cover.
Solar-powered weather station
The weather station comes with an eco-friendly 7-in-1 outdoor sensor that operates via solar power and measures the temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, UV level and light intensity. The sensor uses the sunlight as power-source. Simply align the large solar panel with the sun. In case the sun doesn't shine, 3 AA batteries (not included) serve as a backup. The data will then be displayed on your base station, which has a range of up to 150 metres.
Wi-Fi weather station with feature-packed base station
In addition to displaying the measurements from your outdoor sensor, the base station of the 8-day 4CAST XL Wi-Fi Weather Station also has many other functions. For example, it comes with a built-in thermo/hygro sensor which measures the ambient indoor temperature, humidity and air pressure. There is also a maximum/minimum memory – perfect for monitoring your indoor climate and preventing mildew and excessively dry air. The max/min values for outdoor, temperature, rainfall and other outdoor measurements can also be viewed on the display. In addition to weather data, the large screen has plenty of space for displaying the time, date, day of the week and moon phase. The sunrise/moonrise and sunset/moonset times are also displayed at the top of the screen.
Share your weather data and connect to your smart home
The readings from the wireless solar-powered sensor can be published on the Internet with a few simple clicks so that you can access your data remotely using the ProWeatherLive weather platform (with a web browser or the app). You can also send the measurements from your weather station to a smart home system free of charge using the German-language portal AWEKAS.
